  1. One on One.

    by , 09-08-2010 at 04:44 AM
I'm not sure that I can keep this promise to myself, but I have decided not to tell anyone when my contractor contacts me. Since he is slow and mostly unreliable, I have been caught with egg on my face more than once.

I sent him an e-mail yesterday and he did get back to me this morning. I have decided it will be just a "one on one" communication from now one.

That will provide me with the least amount of stress, and maybe one day I can finally post that ...
  2. I'm not that old.

I had a super great time in the Dells with my grandson and my husband. We had some rain, but it did not spoil our fun.

When we got home today, I was greeted by my neighbor/tenant who bought me a cute Mickey card, and beautiful birthday flowers. When nobody else even gave me a card, I figured it was just the excitement of the trip.

However, later on tonite my grandson and his girlfriend arrived with a beautiful birthday cake. The only glitch was that Sean had ...
  3. Today is my birthday

Today is my birthday, and I find myself thinking about my brother. He was 53 weeks older than me. Unfortunately he died back in 1994, and I really miss him a lot. I often wonder how he would like the internet, and cell phones, and iPods, and all the things that came after him.

When we were kids he ignored me most of the time. When we got older that changed, and we became brother and sister. We often had the same thoughts, ideas, and sometimes could finish each other's sentences. ...

In a very short time I will be saying goodbye to Illinois. I am just leaving the state for a week. Nearby Wisconsin has a really nice hotel room with our name on it.

I enjoy the drive. There are the usual things to look at. Cars, and grass, and farm houses, and signs, and those great big (what are they? water towers, with town names on them), and then there's always a lot of cows and horses, and of course more signs. Add this is with all the tolls that we have to pay, and it's ...
  5. Ben is back.

    by , 08-26-2010 at 05:48 PM
That cat did sneak out of the house. Not sure exactly when he did that. However, after a thorough search of the inside of the house, we did a search of the backyard, and surrounding neighborhood. After calling out Ben's name outside, he strolls out of the bushes, like nothing was wrong.

He wouldn't come to his owner, Diana, but Kathy managed to be able to pick him up.

We were all really scared that Ben might have gotten hurt, and was laying dead somewhere. My ...
