WELCOME TO THE
SUMMER OF HIDDEN MYSTERIES!

Indy fever has hit the globe - and Disneyland hasn't been left out! The Indiana Jones Summer of Hidden Mysteries began yesterday and features Indy-inspired events and activities throughout Adventureland. Disney recently released some publicity shots of the events.

The "Secret of the Stone Tiger" show takes place in "The Oasis" (formerly Aladdin's Oasis). The official press release describes the show as:
Indiana Jones and the Secret of the Stone Tiger
In this intimate storytelling adventure presented multiple times each day at The Oasis, young Disneyland Park guests will uncover clues, decipher codes and embark on an archeological journey that culminates in an appearance by Indy himself!

You can also spot Indy running through the streets, on the rooftops, and across the bridges of Adventureland in Random Acts of Indy:
Random Acts of Indy
In the crowded streets of exotic Adventureland, guests never know when Indiana Jones might make an appearance. It could be in their midst, perhaps it will be high overhead, or even right next to them as Indy dashes by. But look fast, because Indy’s never in one place for long, especially when he’s being pursued by sinister villains!

Next to The Oasis a new photo location has been set up.
New Indy Photo Location
Guests can boast to their friends back home that they outran a giant rolling boulder just like Indy himself - and then they can prove it with photographic evidence.

Adventurers can search for clues that are scattered throughout Adventureland with the help of their Indiana Jones Adventure Map as well as see signs of Indy in the classic Jungle Cruise.
Indiana Jones Adventure Map
Disneyland Park guests will explore just like Indy does when they pick up a collectible map filled with mysterious clues. Artifacts and symbols are hidden throughout Adventureland and once they are revealed guests will find a special code, which they can take home to claim exclusive Indiana Jones digital content courtesy of Lucasfilm Ltd. It's all at www.disneyland.com/indy.

Indiana Jones Meets the Jungle Cruise
One of the all-time classic Disneyland attractions takes on a distinctly Indiana Jones flavor this summer as guests are invited to find unexpected Indy-themed surprises along some of the most mysterious rivers of the world.

PROJECT ROUND-UP
A look at various projects around Disneyland.

The new rock work at the Submarine Voyage exit falls is looking good.

The "it's a small world" facade refurbishment is fully underway now...

Inside Innoventions, the VMK arcade games have been switched over to Pirates of the Caribbean Online and Disney's ToonTown Online.

Over at Disney's California Adventure the signage has returned to the Golden Vine Winery after temporarily being gone to accommodate the Food and Wine Festival signage. The signs no longer feature the Seasons of the Vine film, but do not yet mention the upcoming "Walt Disney Imagineering Blue Sky Cellar" Resort Preview Center.

On Paradise Pier a light has appeared atop Don Tomas, directed towards the Toy Story Midway Mania! marquee.

Nearby in the "Route 66" area of Paradise Pier, Corn Dog Castle was closed for its short refurbishment, but was scheduled to re-open yesterday.
UPDATE 5/25: Corn Dog Castle was still closed for refurbishment as of 5/24.

The Grizzly River Run water wheel is still turned off while work progresses around it.

And inside the Disney Animation pavilion, the 2009 Pixar film Up has gotten a cool new display in the Character Close-Up area

GRAD GEAR '08
The Resort has rolled out its 2008 line of Graduation merchandise.

Magnet Photo Frame

Antenna topper

Keychain photo frame

Ear hat

Mickey plush

Minnie plush

Jumbo Mickey plush

Also available is the new edition of the Disneyland: Then, Now, and Forever book which was originally released during the 50th Anniversary. The book no longer comes with a dust jacket but features a full-color hardcover.

The book has also been updated with new attraction information as well including the updated Pirates of the Caribbean, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, and Toy Story (Midway) Mania!

Alright - that should do it for this week's Dateline Disneyland. Many thanks to David "Darkbeer" Michael for his Indiana Jones and Innoventions photos. Many, many more of David's photos can be found in his Smugmug galleries: darkbeer.smugmug.com and in his weekly "Monday in the Parks" column.

That light on the Don Tomas building is a ETC Source Four Zoom fixture. Either a 15-25 degree or 25-30 degree. My guess is that they forgot to add front lights and found it to dark to see, so they added this massive thing.

The book costs $24.95 and it is also available at the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney. If you can't make it to the Resort at all, you can call Disneyland DelivEars and get it via mail-order -- 1-800-362-4533. Enjoy

Sparky, no, that fixture is a 19 degree s4 zoom, its for gobo waashing midway for grad night and blast off in peticular at night, its not permanent. If you look around the resort more, tech services arond this time and hallowwen treat use special lighting alll around the resort, i know theres a few ratty par can's on the speaker towers in the hub, and the T trusses with mac 2k's profile, s4's and color blazes. I packed this order for disney last year when i was working for th company that supplies disney with the lighting, im not gonna say the name, but look on the yoke of the fixture..
