Disney's California Food and Wine Festival returned over the weekend to kick off its fifth annual run. The Festival which includes an array of free cooking demonstrations, wine seminars, premium dinner experiences, and celebrity chef appearances runs for six weeks this year and is bigger than ever. It's been a busy week at the Disneyland Resort. Construction continues at Disney's California Adventure on an array of new shows and attractions, including Disney's World of Color which undergoes after-hours testing quite often these days. Meanwhile, Disneyland played host to D23's big first anniversary party in Fantasyland mid-week, bringing out a variety of rare walk-around characters for meet and greets as well as a host of Disney celebrities and Legends. Never mind this weekend's rainy weather — it's spring in Southern California and the flowers are in bloom at the Disneyland Resort! As spring color brightens up the parks, walkways are still littered with construction walls at both Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure. Tarps are back up at the waterways surrounding the Bridge to Frontierland as they get some thematic TLC after a recent remodel left them looking like a backyard swimming pool. Welcome again to Dateline Disneyland. The big news last week was the much-anticipated return of the 1986 Michael Jackson 3D musical spectacular Captain EO. With "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience" evicted from Tomorrowland, Captain EO has returned for a limited engagement along with a line of nostalgic merchandise. Work on major construction projects presses on at the Disneyland Resort this week despite a forecast of wet winter weather. In Tomrrowland, Captain EO is moving in as signage for "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience" comes down, and fountain testing continues at California Adventure's new nighttime World of Color water show.
