It's been a surprisingly busy news week for the Disneyland Resort. As World of Color gets closer to lighting up Paradise Bay this summer, the new Silly Symphony Swings are already doing their part to brighten the pier with newly installed decorative popcorn lighting. The Swings aren't open yet, but as they move closer to re-opening with Mickey Mouse instead of a giant orange peel, other projects around Disney's California Adventure continue to progress. Last week came and went and World of Color continued testing, but didn't make the jump to public soft openings. Disney's official word is that no soft openings will happen, but with a show this big and with expectations so high, it's hard to imagine public test runs not happening. In any case, the Dateline Disneyland team is keeping an eye on the show as signage around California Adventure's Blue Sky Cellar touts the "Countdown to World of Color." Disneyland's Rivers of America refurbishment has wrapped up after five months of work. The refurbishment not only got a lot of infrastructure work done, like completely replacing the Mark Twain Riverboat and Sailing Ship Columbia track and rebuilding the aging docks along the River, but guests taking a river cruise will now be treated to enhanced scenery and show elements.
