    Spring break crowds continue to hit the Disneyland Resort theme parks as work rages on in both parks as major projects near their summer deadlines. In Disneyland, restoration and remodeling efforts are underway at the Carnation Cafe and the nearby Penny Arcade.     Spring rain washed out the first wave of busy spring break season at Disneyland and temporarily brought construction in both parks to a halt over the weekend. Despite the weekend rain, plenty of progress can be seen at the projects underway in both parks and in Downtown Disney.     Last week Disney officially announced the grand opening of California Adventure's all-new Cars Land and Buena Vista Street areas. The park will close June 14 for a media preview day and officially host its grand re-opening on June 15. Still, there's plenty of finishing touches and construction to be wrapped up throughout the park with major work still taking place along Buena Vista Street and in the 12-acre recreation of Radiator Springs from Pixar's Cars.     Disneyland was forced to close its gates Wednesday evening due to the unprecedented popularity of its 24-hour Leap Day party. Despite an overcrowded park, sold out food and merchandise and long lines for attractions, guests continued to pour into the park late into the night to be part of the special occasion.
