Winter holidays at the Disneyland Resort
Last week marked the final run of Disneyland's annual Halloween Time offerings, but despite hundreds of jack-o-lanterns still lining Main Street, U.S.A., Christmas decorations were popping up all over the place. Sleeping Beauty Castle is already covered in its holiday snow cover, and New Orleans Square is now celebrating Christmas, Mardi Gras-style. Disneyland's Christmas Tree can now be seen backstage from the Mickey and Friends Tram Route as it gets ready for the upcoming holiday season, but its not just backstage where Christmas is popping up. Holiday merchandise is hitting store shelves throughout the Resort and the first Christmas decorations are now up in a far corner of New Orleans Square. As Disneyland opened its doors to its new Rapunzel meet-and-green to promote the upcoming Tangled animated film, California Adventure introduced Duffy the Disney Bear to park guests, a shameless (albeit undeniably cute) merchandise character. But while both parks saw lines for new character photo ops, Disneyland started to get more holiday lights strung up in trees and bushes around the Castle and DCA closed an opening-day attraction to get re-themed while the rest of the park continues to be remodeled
