Disneyland's popular Fantasmic! show ended its summer with a bang this weekend, but not in a good way. The show's giant dragon audio-animatronic collapsed mid-show on Saturday night, prompting the cancellation of the show's second performance and a flurry of Disney fan chatter on Twitter and the MiceChat discussion boards. Getting through Disney California Adventure got a bit easier this week as the permanent connector path between the Hollywood Pictures Backlot and A Bug's Land opened for business. The new path finally puts an end to the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror being a dead-end for the Hollywood-themed area of the park, and the new path can't hurt with the oft-forgotten Flik's Fun Fair area with some increased foot traffic. Disneyland's Alice in Wonderland is open once again after temporary measures were put in place to keep guests and maintenance workers from falling off the elevated outdoor portion of the ride track. If one thing is good about Alice's horribly tacky safety additions is that they're temporary until a permanent solution can be installed. Disneyland celebrated the Fourth of July in style this weekend with patriotic bunting and banners down Main Street after getting rid of the tired "Celebrate Today!" decorations and California Adventure continues to pack them in with its new World of Color show.
