Last week came and went and World of Color continued testing, but didn't make the jump to public soft openings. Disney's official word is that no soft openings will happen, but with a show this big and with expectations so high, it's hard to imagine public test runs not happening. In any case, the Dateline Disneyland team is keeping an eye on the show as signage around California Adventure's Blue Sky Cellar touts the "Countdown to World of Color." Disney's big news this week was the official announcement of the June 11th World of Color debut date, but for dedicated fans the announcement was already old news and the real news was the continued progress at other projects around Disney's California Adventure. In Paradise Pier, the steel framework for the new Little Mermaid — Ariel's Undersea Adventure attraction at California Adventure is going up surprisingly fast and visible progress on detail work at the Silly Symphony Swings can be seen. ...

Spring break crowds have hit the Disneyland Resort and just in time Disney has opened up 2,500 new parking spots in the new Toy Story Parking Lot but just hope you don't get stuck parking in the off-site lot. What a week! Disneyland's reluctant Fantasmic! dragon finally emerged and set the night ablaze for eager fans, Disney bought Marvel Comics, and the D23 folks start setting up for the huge D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center next to Disneyland. All the while, construction continued in both parks and two Disneyland Resort hotels, a new restaurant opened in California Adventure, and the parks continue to gear up for Halloween Time.
