So I don't know if I want to amend or just post another blog, but excitement is making me be very posty. I got a thick envelope from Skagit Valley College. "Congratulations! You have been selected for the Fall 2010 Part-time Practical nursing program..." Yay! I am both nervous (regarding the cost and first year of nursing school is hard) and excited. I can't believe I'm going to become a nurse. Like it sounds weird but this journey started off as a way to get my mother off my back. One day mid-winter she was like "so what are you going to do with your life?" and she mentioned all these programs that Redlands Adult School had and the nurse's aide sounded the least un-horrible (it didn't sound as horrible as mechanic to me). I signed up (well tested and then signed up.) and apparently I liked it. Then I was going to do the LVN program there, but we moved, and none of my pre-reqs transfered, so I ended up having to them over and being on a waiting list, but the waiting list changing as I'm on it for a year. Long story short... I'm excited. I just kinda' can't believe it. Growing up my dad would complain about nurses and then try to talk me into healthcare. I used to watch "ER" between classes on TNT and thought "that seems like a crazy job." Yeah one that I want... And even a gal at work said when I first started they had bets on how long I'd last as an aide. Wow.
