Tomorrow begins our families annual week at the beach at Carpinteria. Laying out from moring until late afternoon. Swimming if it's not TOO cold. Card games on the beach. Communal dinners. Lots of cocktails. The Spot. Guy watching (which has sucked the past few years, unless you're into overweight Euro-Trash in weenie bikinis). Aloe vera applications. Being with family and friends.
Maybe it's summertime. Maybe I'm just getting older and am annoyed easier. But what is the deal with the freaks? They are everywhere lately!! No matter where I seem to turn, there's a freak. I wish I could fold my arms, blink my eyes and send these freaks to some uncharted desert island far far away from me and my friends and family. <blink> POOF! goodbye.
The score is a dead even 4 boys to 4 girls. That will change this October when another niece has her 2nd child, a girl. It's still weird to think that I have 8 GREAT nieces and nephews at 40 years old, and my oldest one is 11 1/2! Guess that's what happens when your brother is 18 years older than you, and your sister 12 years older. But, yay for healthy babies!
The more "nice trip report" and "good work" and "great pictures" posts you make in them is only going to give them the gumption to do another one that looks exactly the same next week. So, stoppit!!!
Well, Mondays do, first day of the work week and all. But today is a lazy day for me. Nothing planned, just go with the flow and do what I want. Or what I need to do (aka housecleaning). Plus it's too hot to do anything outdoors anyway. Oh, and I bet you have Karen Carpenter singing in your head now don't you?
