  1. Disneyland's Alweg Monorail: Walt Disney's Highway In The Sky

    One of the earliest sketches for Disneyland was Herb Ryman’s entrance to Tomorrowland that is framed by the organic shaped buildings on the left and right and the monorail hanging from a track. From the beginning, Walt was very interested in building a “highway in the sky” for his park.

    Today, I received a phone call from the Chicago Building Department. Two weeks ago, when I had my meeting, I left my building plans with a gentleman in charge of New Construction. Basically, he was going to get back to the architect who drew them up, and have the plans revised so that I can continue on with my project as originally planned.

    Memorial Day marks the beginning of summer and this three day weekend usually calls for a trip to a theme park for many of us. Be prepared to deal with the crowds, though. We won't be the only ones to have the same idea.
