I was promised workers in my house Next Tuesday. I asked the contractor to please tie up all the loose ends of work that has not been completed, before he begins anything new. He totally agreed with me. So next Tuesday, I hope to see the hole patched in my kitchen wall. I also have a downspout that is literally down on the ground rather than up on my house. I have holes where the electrical contractor drilled to be able to relocate my electric meters.
All of these and more,
The saddest thing happened the other day. I was shopping in Target and was surrounded by "Back to School" signs everywhere. It immediately took me back to those difficult days of my youth when you just knew that your days of Summer fun were numbered. But, then we headed to Disneyland to take photos for all of you wonderful In The Parks readers and the blues

After 2 no-show's by my contractor, I had just about decided that I had it with him. I even told my husband that very thing. I was going to ignore all phone calls, and e-mails from the contractor until after our Wisconsin Dells trip. Then, the phone rang this morning, and it was him. I almost didn't pick it up. When I did, he was apologetic, and now he wants to meet tomorrow.
What have I got to lose? At this point, nothing. A face to face confrontation is probably a good thing.
My grandson has a black cat named Scoop. That cat was born last year about the same time that we were enjoying our vacation at Disney World. I remember when I was on that vacation, it was right after I hired the contractor who was supposed to remodel our attic. My vacation was right around this time in August in 2009. I remember how excited we all were about how the attic would look, and how much fun we would all have together once they all moved in.
Here we are one year later,
Disneyland's Alice in Wonderland is open once again after temporary measures were put in place to keep guests and maintenance workers from falling off the elevated outdoor portion of the ride track. If one thing is good about Alice's horribly tacky safety additions is that they're temporary until a permanent solution can be installed. Meanwhile, construction walls are up around Star Tours in Tomorrowland as work starts to gear up on the ride's major overhaul. Over in Disney California Adventure
