This is going to be a giant KVETCH. Warning now:
I'm one of those people that believes homemade gifts or semi-homemade gift are the best kinds of gifts. I'd rather get a really pretty card that one of my friends made me than some gift set from Bath and Body Works. So every year I make everyone on my list something. It's cheesy I know, but that's how I roll. And I mean I knit, I sew, I freakin' modge podge! I've knit copper and silver wire to make jewelry that's my extent of craftiness
Before we get started on the parks, the Southern California Fires have caused some serious issues that are not Theme Park related.
Everyone at MiceAge/MiceChat wants to send their best wishes to all of those who have been affected, and condolences to everyone that has lost their home! (I know of at least one Disneyland Cast Member who lost their residence!)
The Southern California Fires are still going on, and if you do not need to be in the area, please just stay away.

So yesterday I'm shopping at Fry's, and when I walked out around 9:45 AM, I knew it was going to be a bad day. The Santa Anas were howling and smoke was suddenly in the air, coming from the East, somewhere up near the 91 freeway. I drove home hoping they could jump on it quickly before it got out of control. About an hour later, my son walks in and announces that this fire is starting to look pretty bad. I grabbed my camera and went up on the roof to have a look around.
