Random thoughts and general nonsense, posted while I probably should have been studying.
It's Tuesday of Spring Break week. I'm already starting to get panicky about the things I want to do, the things I need to do, and the doing nothing I insist upon for mental health reasons.
So is my week already partly over, or do I have plenty of time left? Argh!
Woo hoo, I have a dress-up date with my husband tonight and the best part is...it's a wedding, so we don't have to pay for it.
Isn't that terrible?
Tonight's wedding is on a yacht in Newport Beach, and we so rarely get to be fancy and have the whole night off from parenting, so that's our excitement for the month. I'm sitting here with my hair in curlers right now. Yay!
Sea Monkeys are amazingly difficult to photograph. Those little blurry things? That's them. I'll try and get a better photo with our nicer camera later, but they never stop moving and always look like a blur. I took about 30 pictures that ended up being nothing at all because they swim around so fast, always on the move.
Out of the whole packet of eggs I grew, I ended up with about 7 survivors.
I've got to make an airport run later this afternoon to go pick up my very best friend since the 6th grade and her husband. They live in Hong Kong most of the time now, so I haven't seen her in 6 months and I haven't seen her husband in almost a year. They arrived in the Bay Area (their U.S. home base) on Wednesday and now they are coming to visit us!
I wish that they were staying longer, that we had the time to go up and hang out with them next weekend, and that I didn't have
At the school where I work, we are required to pitch in and take a couple of recess duties. My shifts are in the mornings before school starts, as if I don't have enough to do each day. 3 fifteen minute shifts, standing at the front of the school, watching the parking lot.
I have to say, it's one of my favorite parts of the day. I get to greet the kids as they come in to school. I get to see them when they are bright eyed and bushy tailed, or when they have
