MiceChat's big anniversary weekend is just a few weeks away (
January 27th through 29th). My flight and hotel are booked, what about you?

I have always wanted to explore the LA area when I come to town, but I usually have my eyes directly on Disneyland, and by the time I get a second to catch my breath it is time to get back on the plane and go home.

Recently, Adventures by Disney (which offers expertly planned Disney vacations around the world) announced a one day tour of the Los Angeles area including the Walt Disney Studios. I was so excited! Since the dates on the “Lights Camera, Magic” tour are extremely limited, we were very lucky that one was being held on the MiceChat Anniversary weekend!

So, what do you say, let's celebrate MiceChat's anniversary with this amazing Adventure by Disney . . .

Some of the highlights of the Adventures by Disney “Lights, Camera Magic” tour are:

A guided tour of The Walt Disney Studio Lot and the Disney Archives.

The tour includes the Studio Lot and the Disney Archives—this is not what is normally open to the public, but rather the interesting behind the scenes stuff we Disney fans will go nuts for! While we're there, we'll also have lunch in the commissary and shop in the studio store. From Burbank, we'll travel down to Hollywood for a tour of the Kodak Theater, where the Oscars are filmed.

Grauman's Chinese Theater

We'll take some time to look at Sid Grauman's famous Chinese Theater,
and see the hand and footprints of the stars.

  • Hollywood Walk of Fame,

  • Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel (the first home of the academy awards!

  • Masonic Temple (which is a live filming studio today!)

  • El Capitan Theater

  • A private tour of the Kodak theatre

We'll see the Kodak, just as it is gearing up for the Academy Awards — in fact, this is the last tour of the facility until the Oscars are over!

  • Driving tour along Sunset Blvd (I've always wanted to see Sunset Blvd!)
  • Shopping (window for me!) along Rodeo drive.

Who knows, we might just see some stars!

•We will end our day with a sunset cocktail reception at the famous Gladstones restaurant on Malibu Beach.

In all, we will travel 110 miles (from Disneyland to Hollywood and back again), so you know we are covering a lot of history in one very full day!

The rates are $179 per adult and there are only a few spots remaining so please contact me (Teresa@FairyGodmotherTravel.com or 832-284-4002) ASAP to experience “Lights Camera, Magic”

If you'd like help booking a hotel room at any of the Disneyland Resort Hotels during the MiceChat 7 anniversary, please let me know and I'll be happy to help you with that as well (I am your personal Fairy Godmother after all).

But that's not all . . . The anniversary weekend holds all sorts of wonderful surprises.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 28th

The fun continues on Saturday January 28th, with the MiceChat Celebrity Breakfast at ESPN Zone. A wonderful buffet breakfast/meet and greet with Disney celebrities including Susan Egan (Broadway's Belle and the voice of Meg from Hercules), Disney author Sam Gennawey, Margaret Kerry (the original reference model and actress for Tinker bell), and other invited guests. The event will take place from 9am-11am, Saturday, January 28th at the fabulous ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney. And YES, the world famous, ESPN Zone Maple Bacon will be served! CLICK HERE TO BUY YOUR TICKETS (space is limited)

Following the breakfast, there will be a day of fun and games in Disney California Adventure. Fairy Godmother Travel will be sponsoring some fun prizes for our games and adventures throughout the day.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 29th

The grand finale of the weekend is on Sunday January 29th which is our traditional Disneyland day with breakfast along the Rivers of America, a grand circle tour of the happiest place on earth and the classic noon meet at the right hand of Walt Disney himself. The amazing folks at Fairy Godmother Travel will be giving away a 2 night stay at the Grand Californian Hotel to a lucky winner at the noon meet (so be sure to save the date).

We hope you'll be able to join us for some or all of the many events we have planned. For the full schedule, please vote in the poll on the discussion thread and we'll PM you all the details, times and locations as soon as we have them (usually about one week before the event).

ABSOLUTELY! Saturday the 28th will be a DCA day and Sunday the 29th will be Disneyland. We'll have the schedule available closer to the event, but the tour required a bit more notice.

Love the Roosevelt Hotel Cinegrill for some great Jazz and seeing Linda Eder perform there. Esmeralda said they should bring some of that entertainment to the Carnation Plaza Gardens so she can hear it from her booth. PD

In the Roosevelt Hotel, I think on the way to the lobby bathrooms, is a picture of Walt Disney and several other Hollywood bigwigs sitting in that early Academy Awards show. A very very cool pic, one that I haven't seen anywhere else!

Would be cool to see, but can't make it. However, I almost have enough DMR points saved up for the Disney Studio Tour for four, so perhaps I'll see the studios in the future.
