Mickey Mouse takes on a desolate Steampunk cartoon wasteland in the upcoming Disney Interactive Studios game Epic Mickey. While the game won't be released until Fall of 2010, interest is already rising in the gaming and Disney Fan community due to the phenomenal steampunk artwork which pits a cacophony of ramshackle Disney characters and places against a paintbrush wielding Mickey Mouse. Never has Mickey been out on such a limb creatively or so cool. Join us as we take a look at a chaotic and wrecked Disney World residing on the back of a giant mechanical whale - the art and story behind an upcoming Disney gaming adventure.

It was a week of tremendous change and announcements. Today is the last day for Disneyland President, Ed Grier, his replacement still hasn't been announced. Universal Studios ousted their two top bosses. And perhaps the biggest news was the sale of Busch Entertainment (Sea World, Busch Gardens, and a total of 10 family entertainment locations across the United States), to Equity firm, Blackstone - which already owns Legoland, Madame Tussauds, Merlin Entertainment, and a 50% stake in the Universal Orlando parks. Change has also come to Downtown Disney in Anaheim California with the addition of a new shop, Ridemakerz, and a newly expanded Little Miss Missmatched. In the park, progress on returning the magic to the Magic Shop, Princess and the Frog promotion and more. Join us for news, photos, and commentary from Disneyland and Southern California attractions in today's In the Parks Theme Park Blog.

"Amazing," "eye-popping," "whimsical," "profound," "fun" and "moving" could all be used to describe the new Walt Disney Family Museum, but none come close to capturing the experience. You must truly experience it in person to fully appreciate it. But whether you're a casual Disney fan, an armchair historian, or a scholar of entertainment arts, you are sure to find the museum to be a fitting tribute to a remarkable man.
The museum opens to the public on October 1st, 2009, but this past weekend, members of the museum, D23 and the Carolwood Pacific Historical Society were treated to a special sneak preview of the facility, housed in a renovated former military barracks in San Francisco's historic Presidio. Join us as we take a peek inside.

D23 Expo was a big hit, and for Disneyland fans, it held a wealth of information about the parks. Fans were able to interact one-on-one with Imagineers, artists, and legends. A highlight of the Expo was and an up close look at the massive new Cars Land coming to Disney's California Adventure and the spectacular models of the three new lands coming to Hong Kong Disneyland. There were also several movie and attraction announcements, such as Star Tours II, almost all of which MiceAge readers already knew. But it was still nice to hear the official announcement. Join us for lots of photos and news from the D23 Expo as well as a small Disneyland update.

Things have certainly been busy at Disneyland and other Disney parks around the world in the past week. Proving just what a smash she really is, the discussion boards are still buzzing about all things Murphy, the new Fantasmic dragon. We feature four new trip reports from Walt Disney World in Florida this week with some amazing photography. A very scary version of Halloween is headed to Hong Kong Disneyland, complete with menacing alien invasion (as in extraterrestrial). If you'd like to see what Universal Studios Osaka looks like, we've got you covered with a beautiful photo report. And there are a million discussions on the boards on all sorts of subjects from your favorite movie of summer to what to expect with the new Beatles Rockband game. If you've got some time to kill, or are looking to escape work for a few minutes, this is your opportunity. And don't forget to stop by and say hello to us at the D23 Expo this week!
