Today's adventure with the Weekend Update is fun AND mysterious. We start at the "gravitational anomaly" known as the Mystery Spot where the forces of nature are all out of wack. Then we get a tour of what's new at Walt Disney World in Florida. From there, we jet off to the unbelievably beautiful and detailed Tokyo Disney Sea. And we wrap things up not far from the Mysterious Spot where we started this adventure at the historic Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and its ancient, quirky, and fun attractions which have an air of mystery all their own. Welcome aboard, and enjoy your trip into a dimension known as the Weekend Update.

As it prepares to transform vast sections into a Harry Potter Land, we take a look back at original concept art for Universal's Islands of Adventure. Universal's Islands of Adventure park, affectionately known as IoA, was one of the first parks to come close to Disney standard theme park entertainment. And there is a good reason for that, as many of the Imagineers laid off by Disney were hired by Universal to build IOA. And their Disney brand of creativity shows through. Let's take a look back at the concepts for these lands of adventure and particularly the areas which will disappear forever when Harry Potter takes over.

It's a star spangled theme park update today! Disneyland will be filled to the rafters this weekend, do you know where to park if the main lots are full? Don't expect a dragon in Fantasmic, though they tried, she won't be ready in time for this weekend due to structural concerns. Knott's has a new fancy steakhouse. Universal has a campy and fun new musical show based upon the Creature from the Black Lagoon. If you are looking for fireworks, Sea World, Knott's Berry Farm, and Disneyland will all have them on Saturday with Disneyland also having a special version of the show on Friday and Sunday as well. All this and news, construction photos, and travel tips in today's In The Parks Disney and Theme Park Blog.

Topics have turned to the spooky side of life on MiceChat. As we usher in October, the MiceEars crew has assembled a great listing of top Disney, Theme Park, and Vacation topics, rumors, news, and events for us all to enjoy.
Dark, wet, creepy, a tour of the Paris catacombs [1] are a great way for us to kick off Halloween month. Over 40 MiceChatters kicked off Halloween last weekend with a trip to Knott's Scary Farm's Halloween Haunt. Don't miss all the foggy fun in the Fishbulb and PirateMunkee trip reports from the big event. And if you are looking or something a little less scary, the boards are filled with trip reports of the theme parks world wide in their Halloween finest.
There is also a lot of news and information being discussed this week. Disney's California Adventure's new preview center is about to open and gets an official name "Walt Disney Imagineering Blue Sky Cellar." Pleasure Island's clubs have closed, but most of the sadness is reserved for the legendary Adventurers Club which was amazing in its detail, theme, entertainment, and comedy. There were many MiceChatters in attendance for the final kungaloosh. We can only hope that Disney finds a new home for the club very soon, it would be a shame for such a beloved and unique attraction to be lost forever.
But the Adventurers Club wasn't the only thing we lost this week. Paul Newman, great actor and humanitarian, passed away this week. Hard Rock Park has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy.
There are also some great trip reports and news from the off-shore parks this week. Lots of great pictures of the Halloween decorations in Paris. Trip reports and merchandise in Hong Kong. And another amazing trip report of the Tokyo Disneyland resort.
Don't miss what is sure to be a fun MiceChat meet this Saturday for Disneyland's Gay Days - all of our meets and events are always listed in MiceChat's "Meets and Events [2]" section.
And we wrap up today's update with a heartfelt congratulations to MiceChatters LuvsLilo and MiceChat Roundup co-Editor Hollywood1939 on the birth of their twin daughters. We are a very proud family of chatters and are thrilled to welcome our newest MiceBabies.
As always, the roundup contains many more items that we have room to print here. Catch the entire MiceChat Weekly Roundup of Disney, Theme Park, and Vacation news, information, rumors, and pictures HERE [3].
