Not as good as Ristorante 34? I'm thinking it's still better then what we have here sometimes!
This is, and I say again, an excellent report.
Thanks once more,
Peace,
Roo

I don't comment much..and lurk plenty, but this is one great trip report!
Thank you for sharing.
I was fortunate enough to get to the vatican after my college graduation. Your pictures bring back some great memories.
You were being sneaky in the Sistine Chapel. Did they reprimand you for those pictures?
What a lovely trip! It looks like you had a lot of fun.
Charlie I love looking in here every night and seeing what adventure your pictures will bring. I don't think I want it to ever end.
Better Christina than my very Catholic mother!
Speaking of which did you get to go to Sicily at all? My dad's side is from Palermo and my mom's side is from Lucca Sicula, a village about 20 minutes from Corleone. If you remember this is where they filmed part of The Godfather -- remember, "Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday" BOOM! LOL
St. Peter's is amazing. The Pieta moved me to tears, and I'm still not sure why it had that effect on me. I was there in the off-season and missed (!) the Sistene Chapel because it closed early, but I did climb the dome and that was very cool. See, another reason to go back!

A signature should go here.
Another grand installment.
Charlie, for the items not included in your tour, did you use a CreditCard for payment? Or?
Just countin' the days til the next visit!
I bought Euros before heading overseas, and when we went out to an expensive dinner I paid with a credit card.
When we hit the San Lorenzo Market in Florence (just you gals wait 'til you see all the beautiful leather...) I paid cash almost exclusively, so I had to hit the ATM a few times.
By the time we got to Venice, the euro was taking such a hit I decided to use my credit card whenever possible to get the best exchange rate possible.
You really have to pay attention to the exchange rate when heading overseas. It can make a huge difference in your final cost... especially if you like to shop!![]()
Wow Charlie, what a fantastic trip. I can't wait to see the rest. But this image is haunting me:

Yep, that's alot dead dudes... Dude!
To quote Rick Steves:... the monastic message on the wall explains that this is more than just a macabre exercise: 'We were what you are... you will become what we are now'.![]()
