Tuesday of this week Knott's management made yet another shrewd change in operations as the park continues on an unprecedented rebound. For the most part, we've been thrilled with the path Knott's has been on lately; however, there is one item which has perplexed us for weeks. We think you'll be as pleased as we are with the happy news we have to share.

GHOST TOWN AREA MUSIC:
On Tuesday, we visited the park and noticed something a little different in Ghost Town.


The entrance music remain pop music and upbeat,
no problem there.

As we passed under the Ghost town arches everything looked wonderful as we've come to expect, but the one negative in the area, the out of theme pop music was gone! It its place was a mix of Country, Western and Bluegrass! Let us just say that the music change makes a big difference. Here is some of the music we heard during our trip.

For a long while we have noted the area music in Ghost Town was simply not the right fit for the most themed area of the park. Many of you had similar complaints.

But this week, management decided to try something new with the area music. They chose music that upholds their goal of happy and upbeat, but that also fits the overall feel of Ghost Town. The effect is exactly what we were hoping for. Music that enhances the surroundings without intruding on it. Raffi, we want to thank you for making this decision. You should know that the fans have noticed and we are thrilled.

The All Wheels X-treeme stage is returning for some Summer fun. Here is what it looks like so far.

Over in Camp Snoopy the stage is nearly set for the brilliant Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular.



Hooray for Hollywood:
During the day, Knott's will be staging a show featuring the Peanuts Gang. Hooray for Hollywood, a musical stage show that pays tribute to Tinseltown, has opened in the Camp Snoopy Theatre! Watch as Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus and their pal JT try to make it big in Hollywood! A surprise guest, looking snazzy in his Hollywood duds, joins the cast in this fun and interactive show! It is sure to be a hit with kids of all ages!

LA BREA BAKERY:
The newly expanded La Brea Bakery opened this week and it looks great.

















It's a really yummy change. Nice to see an increased selection of reasonably priced items in Downtown Disney.

TRON LEGACY:
Greetings, Programs! Disney XD's exciting new animated series TRON: UPRISING starts on June 7th, but you can see the pilot "Beck's Beginning" at Downtown Disney starting on Sunday, June 3rd.

Viewers will have the opportunity to see a prelude episode of the new animated series “TRON: Uprising” in a state of the art, high definition theatre on wheels. The 91 seat theatre provides an immersive viewing experience with digital surround sound and stadium seating. The continuous screenings are made available at no charge.

There's so much going on at the Disneyland Resort right now that it's hard to keep up and almost all of it is great news. These are golden days for Disneyland fans.

MAIN STREET:
Memorial Day bunting has been installed.




MATTERHORN:
The Matterhorn is testing regularly and the walls should be coming down any day now. There is speculation about early soft openings, but we have not heard anything firm yet.













CARNATION CAFE:
The new Carnation Cafe sign made its debut and we think it turned out great.







PRINCESS FANTASY FAIRE:
The first signs of change can now be seen inside the Princess Fantasy Faire meet and Greet.



FRONTIERLAND SHOOTIN EXPOSITION:

BUENA VISTA STREET:

Breakfast Burritos from a cart. A small clue that they are expecting HUGE crowds in the early mornings this summer.

Luigis' Flying Tires:
It appears that the beach balls are going to stay as they have now installed Red, Green and White, colored balls.







GHIRARDELLI:
Ghirardelli soft opened today and we were there to bring you the info. Each guest gets a free sample of yummy chocolate!








There are six registers and six soda fountains. Guests place their orders then proceed to their window to get their order. They have a goal to take and fulfill each order in under 4 minutes.

COVE BAR:
Lastly, the Cove Bar reopened with a new period specific look. It's a nice change.






The huge styalized dolphin stature in the middle of the bar has been removed.






Everything is a lot more period specific.


With references that tie the location into the surrounding story.




They even created images of the "construction" of the pier.


The scale seems a little off here though, lol.

The bar even includes a lower counter for disabled guests.


There are also two new drink items!



PARADISE PIER:
New billboards have also popped up along the bridge over the launch of Screamin'.






One of the new signs promotes the Paradise Garden restaurants on the other side of the DCA lagoon.


But what is going on here?

And we just thought it was an after effect of visiting the Cove Bar



Over the past few weeks a lot of work has been done on Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom. We were pleased to find out that the walls around the entrance have come down. This doesn't mean the ride is close to being done though. As you will see in the pictures below, there is still a lot of work to be done. We also have a general park update for you as well.

LEX LUTHOR:
The walls have come down around the entrance and you can now see the work they've done on the existing buildings to convert them into the queue for Lex Luthor.


The entry sign for the ride has also made an appearance.




A peek inside the entry door shows some theming going on inside the queue.


As you can see, they are still doing a lot of work, even tearing up concrete as late as yesterday. We are guessing the walls came down to allow equipment to move in and out of the entry area easier.


The old Guest Necessity Center, presumably the exit/gift shop has been completely refurbished. Some additional painting/theming will likely be going on prior to opening.


The old Paintball Alley is being worked on. No word if this is going to be part of the queue or still a gaming area.


A look at the tower reveals that the crew are still hard at work.


Tower overview. This is going to be a REALLY tall ride (it takes up the whole back side of the Superman ride tower).


With the walls down we were also able to get a look at the base of the ride and the future station area. The gate around the corner (near Colossus) has been removed, again likely for construction equipment and we were able to get a shot of the ride vehicles on the tower.

AROUND THE PARK:
A new show "My Generation Music Light & Laser Light Show" is now running on weekends in the Magic Moments theater. It's a great place to beat the heat. We'll be checking it out during a future visit.




Grad Night's are still going on at the park


The park also had some nice Grad Night merchandise available.


A new stage has been erected near Gold Rusher for the Acapella group Perfect 6.

What the Fried?:
No REALLY ... WHAT THE FRIED!?!?!
If you've been following In The Parks for awhile, you'll know about the saga of the old Johnny Rockets "Shakes and Fries" stand. Well, the saga continues this week. If you'll recall, on our last update the What the Fried sign was gone.

We are happy to announce the sign is back.



What's odd though, is that there is another sign on the other entrance that is for "Loaded Dogs".




And even more odd is the sign out front when approaching the eatery from the front entrance (you know, the one everybody is likely to see first) still says "Shakes and Fries" even though the location doesn't sell Shakes and Fries.

Let's hope the identity crisis for this location is resolved soon, and that we actually find it open. We are excited to try a Mango Dole Whip one of these days.







MANTA:
Because of the sharp turns, twists, and dramatic drops, SeaWorld doesn’t allow any loose articles during the ride – ex. bags, purses, cameras – which can’t be put in your pocket. So, they have been kind enough to allow you to stow them away in a locker. These lockers are free, but they also have some which you have to pay for.






Nope, this isn't a plant convention. It's all the landsaping just waiting for someone to install it (And on opening day no less.)


While the front half of the ride is heavily themed, the whole back half has been left unthemed and unfinished. Even if they plant some trees, this is a missed opportunity to build some visual interest (a lagoon with water fountains, a rocky mountain to zoom through, a sting ray pool, anything).

While smooth, the ride has a lot of twists and turns which keep it fun.




And at the exit of the ride, you can buy your photo (of course)


Here's more of the unthemed back half. A disappointing collection of dirt mounds. Great ride with a great first act. Then if looks like they gave up on doing anything ambitious with the last half of the attraction. What a shame!

But don't get us wrong. We LOVED this coaster. It's smooth, unexpected, and with just enough pizzazz to keep guests of all ages smiling.


The store has tons of unique merchandise for sale.

THE AQUARIUM:
Another part of Manta which isn’t finished is the aquarium. There are hardly any fish inside and it all seems to be needing a lot of work still.

Although it is located next to Manta, you have to walk all the way around the entire area to get here


Inside, they have installed lots of expensive textured and glass tile.

NEW DINING OPTIONS:
It seems SeaWorld isn’t slowing down with the number of new dining options. A newly opened “Manny Rays” serves sandwiches and salads…




…and allows guests to have a great view of the beginning of the ride.


Also new is “Fusion Smoothies” and “Boathouse Sausages”.


“All FIRED up” – from the Viva La Musica event – has become a permanent landmark at SeaWorld.


CIRQUE DE LA MER:
Cirque De La Mer resurfaced once again with their new enhancements – including the new trampoline wall sequence. During the week, you can catch this show twice a day. But during the weekends, it shows about four or more times.





It still puzzles me why SeaWorld would put the new trampoline wall in front of the set. It seems like a huge block for guests sitting in the center of the stadium.

What an amazing week for Southern California theme park enthusiasts! On Thursday, two theme parks opened two major attractions. Universal finally officially opened Transformers the Ride 3D, and SeaWorld San Diego opened Manta. How do they measure up? Were they worth the wait? We'll let you know. We also check up on Disneyland's preparations for summer and follow the last remaining weeks of Cars Land and Buena Vista Street Construction (hint, construction walls are coming down). Finally, with the recent price increases at the Disneyland resort, we thought it would be wise to review all of the pricing for the major theme parks and bring you a breakdown of the best values. You'll be surprised just what you could do in the theme park world for the cost of a single Disneyland Premium Annual Pass. Ready for a whopping week of fun? Let's get to it!





It was a HUGE week for Universal Studios Hollywood as the opening of one of the biggest attractions in years has brought them attention from media around the world. We also have updates on other little projects and news around the resort.

PLAYGROUND:
We've been covering construction in the Jurassic Park queue for quite some time. Finally, DINO PLAY: For Kids, has opened. It's a minor thing, but really well done and very cute.



Mind you, this is FOR KIDS. So the adults will have to let Jurassic Park: The Ride suffice.


But if mom and dad have to leave you behind, this is a great place for a kid to spend some time.






This little queue enhancement not only makes the queue more approachable for kids, but it really looks good too.




TRANSFORMERS : THE RIDE 3D
After 4 weeks of "Technical rehearsal", or soft opening for you Disney folk, Transformers: The Ride 3D officially opened with fanfare, a little pyro, and a few celebrities thrown into the mix on Thursday.






The Bumblebee walk around character is a big hit.




Imagine having to walk around in one of these costumes in the heat of summer.


The king of cinema, Steven Spielberg, was hanging out at the grand opening ceremony.


Optimus Prime chatting up the crowd.

After a taped message from Michael Bay, Director of the Transformers movies, and the arrival of General Moreshower, a staged battle took place that culminated in the opening of the ride.




General Morshower began the ceremony.


"I'm Michael Bay and this @#%! just got real. Thank you."


Then the explosions happened.


ACTION!!!




You can almost see Optimus Prime.

While there were many interesting people in attendance, not the least of which was executive producer Steven Speilberg, none of them took the stage during the ceremony. They just stood there. No matter really. The star of this show was the ride itself.

All of the creative and executive teams got first dibs on the ride. The VIP's, celebrities, and then the throngs of press from around the globe were given the green light to head in. We were joined, this week by our friends Doug Barnes from the MiceChat Podcast (and the Season Pass Podcast), Rick West and Johana Atilano from Theme Park Adventure, and Ricky Brigante from Inside the Magic.

The Ride:
As we stated in our initial review of the attraction a few weeks ago, this is one amazing ride. Really. This is one of the most substantial rides to come to California since Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye back in 1995. It's that good.

That is not to say that it is perfect. In fact, I'm not sure that there are any theme park attractions which are perfect or couldn't be made better (even Harry Potter). But they accomplished a lot with this ride and it's a rollicking, fast paced (but not extreme) thrill



Rick West, Doug Barnes, and Johanna Atilano joined the MiceChat crew for a little fun.



The 3D is on par or better than what you see on Star Tours, but on this attraction, the simulator seats 12 and moves on a track with a full range of motion (up, down, dodge, shake, spin), with crisp audio, and an action packed story line which will have you exhausted at the end. Yes, it's as amazing as it sounds.

The queue sets up the storyline of the ride. We strongly suggest waiting in the regular line on your first ride so you don't miss out on anything. You also have the option of Single Rider or Gate A (Universal's front of the line option).





Not only is the queue well themed, it is also quite large and completely temperature controlled (which will be a blessing this summer).







While in the queue, you'll learn that it is a time of extreme danger. The Decepticons are on the attack in pursuit of the "All Spark" that would give them ultimate power. As you might expect from a theme park attraction, you are recruited to help fight the Decepticons and soon find yourself aboard your very own Transformer vehicle to join the fight.

Each vehicle is a roaming flight simulator that darts, spins and careens through practical sets that are perfectly blended with High Definition 3D projections to create an impressive illusion of reality. The attraction fuses rear-projection HD3D screens, practical sets, heat, water and smoke, and flight simulator technology.

As the executives and creative team exited the attraction after the press event, we caught their reactions

We asked one of the first little boys out of the attraction what he thought, his answer "Freakin' AWESOME!". It's going to be a very good summer for Universal.


MUMMY SNACKS:
In other news the new Mummy Snacks counter has opened.












Transformers aren't the only major new attraction to open this week. SeaWorld built an impressive new ride of their own, the family coaster, Manta. Our reporter, CaptPhoebus, was lucky to be able to ride it multiple times at a press preview on Thursday and it far surpassed his expectations. It's smooth, no more extreme than Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and one of the best themed outdoor roller coasters in a non-Disney park. In fact, we liked the ride so much, we are headed back on Saturday for the official opening.

MANTA:
SeaWorld San Diego has been locked in an epic battle with the coastal commission of California for years. While SeaWorld tries to maintain and build out its theme park, there are a myriad of obstacles they must go through to produce any addition to the park. It is for this reason that the park doesn't hold the collection of thrill rides that its Orlando counterpart contains.






But 2012 is the year that they were finally able to add a substantial coaster to the mix with Manta. This terrain hugging coaster walks the fine line that the local government demands by not being too invasive to the existing sight lines, yet it still packs a substantial punch.

The Landscaping is far from complete. They were planting all day long while the press and passholder previews were being conducted.








While many of the queue features were still being installed, we were told that the ride itself is at 100%.

We entered the queue and hopped onboard.

The train leaves the station and into the show building, a projection screen tunnel that fully surrounds the vehicle. After "diving" into the water the track actually moves, mimicking the ebb and flow of the ocean current. We are now, Mantas. With that established, the train shoots out of the tunnel and out into the track.

The ride is impressive, with plenty of air time and strong but not extreme G's. This is not a kiddie coaster. It could be described as a very aggressive family coaster.




The Orlando version of the ride is a completely different kind of coaster and quite extreme. The San Diego version is much more tame, but still quite fun. The trademark Manta splashdown makes and appearance (happens along the ride queue).

Now for a little bit of the bad. Manta is not plus-size friendly. At all. Luckily, they do have a sample seat out in front of the attraction so that riders can try the seats on for size. But this may become a real problem as the guidelines are pretty stringent.








Next, they require that you store your bags in a locker, for free, prior to boarding.




This is fine, in fact it is common. But there are currently only 100 lockers available for the entire queue. They have gotten around the issue by allowing what could best be described as a child switch pass for bag holders. One in your party can stand off to the side and hold the bags for the entire party while the rest ride. Then, of course, switch. It's an interesting solution, but we are assured that more lockers are on the way.

The Manta pools were not ready at the time of this review, but we will show you what we saw.

Overall we think that SeaWorld has a very positive addition to the park. Manta is a dynamic little zinger of a coaster that may not seem like much at first glance, but it is a heck of a lot of fun. It almost gets us to forget how sad Journey To Atlantis made us. Good job SeaWorld, you have a winner on your hands.

Not as exciting as Transformers and Manta, but there have been some long awaited changes at Disneytown Disney in Anaheim.


LA BREA BAKERY:
The tarps came down around La Berea Bakery, revealing the newly expanded Express section and it looks very nice indeed.






EARL OF SANDWICH:
On the other end of DownTown Disney, the walls have finally As La Brea Bakery's walls come down, they are going up around the future home of Earl of Sandwich (the old Compass Books).




It's almost too much good news that two affordable restaurants are soon to open in Downtown Disney. We have no doubt they will both be quite popular (they will be with us for sure).




CARNATION CAFE:
Screens sprang up this week as painting gets underway in the construction area for the rebuilt Carnation Cafe.








SHOOTIN' EXPEDITION:
The Shootin' expedition remains under refurbishment as well. As you can see, they have replaced the wooden pillars that make up the awning.













MATTERHORN:
The most exciting Disneyland news is that the new bobsleds can be seen careening around the icy slopes of this majestic mountain. Harold hasn't been heard just yet, but we are expecting him very soon.









This attraction looks fabulous!

GOING UP!
Al Lutz had warned us that ticket prices were set to go up before Cars Land opening, but none of us expected such a huge jump. Premium Annual Passes went up by $150 (that's an extra $600 for a family of 4).



There's a poll in the MiceChat forums which asks the readers how the increase will impact them. About half have indicated they will need to downgrade their current ticket preference or stop going to the park altogether.

We've got some suggestions for you.

That's 4 major attractions with some of the best rides and attractions in the world. Knott's is the odd man out this summer without a major new attraction opening. However since their big ride of last year was delayed until after the summer season, Windseeker is really still their new ride. Plus, a full slate of summer entertainment and new walk around character actors in Ghost Town and lots of improvements everywhere. In many ways, Knott's is the value leader in SoCal. You can get a season pass to Knott's for about half the cost of a one day park hopper into Disneyland.




As we entered the park this week, we encountered more employee training groups. They were being taught the history of the Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner and what it means to the park. This is excellent! Real history training at Knott's Berry Farm. We are thrilled with the changes which have recently been made at this park (for the most part).

Knott's Berry farm is under some intense pressure from the fans this year (us included) for Haunt. Why? Because it will be Knott's Scary Farm's 40th Anniversary. The preparation for the infectiously adorable Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular are underway. The wonderful, nighttime lighting event opens in June.

Montezuma has returned to revenging once again.




FIESTA VILLAGE:
The shop in Fiesta Village opened after refurbishment. It seems a little barren right now, but we are sure they will fill it up.









PERILOUS PLUNGE:
Perilous Plunge is currently down for refurbishment.



Though we wish they'd just remove it. It takes up so much space for a ride which delivers so little thrill for a very long wait.




XCELERATOR:
Xcelerator is also down for refurbishment. The Red train is getting a complete overhaul and the restrooms near the entrance are getting some attention as well.








GHOST TOWN:
The new entrance to the restrooms in Ghost town is now open. It is now fully wheel chair accessible.






In other news, the water pump has returned to Main Street, but is slightly different and more authentic than the one they place here earlier in the year.



THE GHOST TOWN PLAYLIST:
As we visit Ghost Town each week we can't help but notice the bizarre pop music they are playing in the area. The refurbishments are great, but Knott's PLEASE change the music. This is the listing of pop tunes we heard in this western setting.

There's SO much right that's going on at Knott's, but this music really takes the wind out of our sails. Come on Knott's, fix the music and you'll earn lots of loyal new fans. BUENA VISTA STREET:
Here we are at Buena Vista Street. The new heart of the park. The first guests will get previews of the area in just a couple weeks. But, we'll all get an early look at the center piece for the park as the walls have finally come down around the Carthay Circle Theater. And the walls around the fountain will be down by the time this article goes to print. We'll grab photos of that and upload to MiceChat as quickly as possible.

Lots of new details like this stained glass window at the Cafe.






News Boys will be handing out free copies of the Buena Vista Bugle - they will also burst into song and dance a la Newsies. This harkens back to the early days of Main Street USA when papers were sold to guest. They are really going all out to make Buena Vista Street a really amazing experience with street actors, entertainment and interactivity. We can't wait to see more.


CARTHAY CIRCLE THEATER UNWRAPPED
The big news this week was the removal of the construction walls from around the Carthay Circle Theater. The detail that is on display here is remarkable and beautiful. The design has real substance and lends the much needed sense of place that the golden hubcap never could, even when the special reflective mirrors WERE working properly.

Walt Disney introduced Snow White to the world in this theater on December 21, 1937.











The prices are similar to Blue Bayou



















The only odd thing is the placement of the lettering on the sign. Is it meant to say "Carthay Premiere and Circle Cuisine" or "Carthay Circle and Premiere Cuisine"? It just looks a bit off. The side panels are blank, so we assume that some signage is still on the way.


























HOLLYWOOD LAND:
Entering Hollywood Land, we see that one of the former pedestals has a new paint job which deemphasizes the Egyptian details.

This morning, Friday, May 25th, Disney removed the walls surrounding the fountain in front of the theater.

Mad T Party:
The design rule for the Mad T Party seems to be, "More is More". While this is probably going to look wonderful at night, it is a remarkable eyesore during the day. Still, Al Lutz reported that a soft opening should happen this evening for the night time party. So, if you are at the park, stop by and see if there is a party in the rabbit hole.


The giant clock contains a video screen. The arches have misters in them which will create a sort of projection screen. Should be a whimsical effect.

The food truck now sports a "Fuze" logo.


And the real reason for the Mad T Party . . . alcohol sales.

CARS LAND:
Cars Land looks pretty much finished and there is actually plenty of good buzz about both Radiator Springs Racers and Mater's Junkyard Jamboree. In fact, one early rider told us that "Mater's was WAY more awesome of a ride than I thought it was going to be." The trouble child is Luigi's Flying Tires. Let's hope that they can find a way to help guests figure out how it works so they can enjoy it on the first try.

Imagineer, Steve Davison (of Haunted Mansion Holiday, World of Color, fabulous fireworks and parades), does a lot more than design night time extravaganzas. He also stages some pretty amazing choir performances in Long Beach. His latest creation is called The Sound of Muzak.

Poor Maria! All her life she's dreamed of being a lounge singer in Reno, but growing up in a failing convent-turned-mall run by the Sisters isn't as fabulous as she would like. She receives a new lease on life (and a reprieve from the hot-dog-on-a-stick cart) when she goes to assist the owner of the mall daycare manage unruly children. Will Maria find love or will she receive the calling? Will the Sisters save the mall or will they lose their home to a certain goose-stepping jeweler? These questions (and more) will be answered when SCC presents "The Sounds of Muzak.

Even though we are on the verge of an epic Summer, there is plenty of action going on at the Southern California Theme parks to keep fans occupied until all the big new rides open. We begin with Disneyland where we find the Monorails have been given a cute new Cars overlay. Next, we check up on Disney California Adventure and the actual Cars Land, Buena Vista Street and Mad T Party. We also get to stop by Knott's Berry Farm and then we drop down to San Diego to check on the progress of their new family coaster, Manta! It's heady times, so let's get to it!

The scaffolding has come down near the La Brea Bakery and the new look is pretty impressive.








With La Brea Bakery Express on one end of Downtown Disney and Earl of Sandwich on the other end, there will be two new affordable dining options in Downtown Disney. That's a good thing.




Disneyland has created a Cars inspired overlay/wrap to the existing fleet of Monorails to celebrate the opening of Cars Land on June 15th. The first to emerge was Mona the Monorail. (the other two are Mandy and Manny). The wrap is really just a pair of eyes and a mouth added to the head cone. However, they have created a brand new audio track similar to the existing spiel, that conveys the info as if the Mona was taking you on a tour of Disneyland. It works, it's charming and should be nice to have a round for a while. Each of the Monorails has its own name and spiel. It's a clever little short term marketing campaign which doesn't beat you over the head with lots of text or signs. It's just a face on the nose cone and a clever spiel. Simple and we really liked it.






Purists can take heart in the fact that this is only temporary.

MATTERHORN:
The Matterhorn continues to go through testing and is working out all of the kinks in time for the June 15th deadline.








The bobsleds are ready to go!




PRINCESS FANTASY FAIRE:
An update on the Fantasy Faire shows us that a lot of work has already begun behind the walls.



The popcorn light fixtures have been taped over, indicating that the tent structure will remain.


Soon the boring facade, that was built on the back side of Zocolo in the Pressler Era, will be gone.


CARNATION CAFE:
In less than a month, the Carnation Cafe is set to return. June 13th, two days before the relaunch of DCA is the date that has been set.








FANTASMIC 20th ANNIVERSARY EVENT:
This week, Disneyland also held a wonderful and FREE event for Passholders. The Fantasmic 20th Anniversary event was an evening party set aside exclusively for pass holders to come and celebrate this wonderful show.

Aside from the special showing of Fantasmic, they keep a few rides open on the west side of the park as well.

Apple Yam Salad

The food items that we sampled tasted great. Nothing ground breaking, but all good. The aforementioned cupcake's orange frosting tasted like vanilla and had a little cherry in the middle. Yummy! The only thing that was less than stellar was the visually pleasing Blueberry blast drink. It ended up being an expensive, saccharin-sweet blue berry flavored kool-aid. Nothing overly impressive aside from the blue glow.



As the time for the show approached special Disney Channel style remixes of park music played to keep the crowd entertained. For once, we wish Raffi (of Knott's Berry Farm) could have chosen the music. (Sorry Raffi, you know we love you.)

The show started off with a retrospective of news and interviews leading up to the opening of Fantasmic 20 years ago.










The pre-show was a great reminder of what a classic Disney experience the show has become. It has evolved, just like any attraction, but it has remained true to the spirit of imagination.


After the pre-show Fantasmic started and the real fun began.








Did good triumph over evil? We are about to find out!








In the end, Mickey wins the day! Disneyland's Fantasmic, is still the very best in theme park entertainment even after all these years.

Congratulations on 20 years Fantasmic. Here's to 20 more!

BRAVE'S MERIDA MEET AND GREET:
Today, Merida from Disney Pixar's Brave will begin meeting and greeting guests near it's a a small world and the parade gate.























Stop by and say hello to Merida and the wee playful bears. You will also be able to participate in activities inspired by Merida’s story.




BUENA VISTA STREET:

While Cars Land is getting all the media coverage, we have a feeling that Buena Vista Street is going to be a sleep hit that will last the ages. What we've been able to see over the walls is nothing short of amazing and a complete transformation of a flat billboard style first act into a real life functioning place in time. In the back of Hollywood Land, on the big sky wall that hides the Hyperion Theater, a pad near the restrooms has been completely cleared (we assume for the Mad T Party).



Painting on the stairs has been completed. Could we hope that they will some day be enclosed?

The House of Cards is in front of where Hollywood and Dine once was.






Ladies and gentlemen, the real reason for the Mad T Party . . . The bar!

GHIRARDELLI:
Bricks! We have Bricks. The Ghirardelli facade in Pacific Wharf is finally coming out, slowly from the construction tarps. There isn't much to see yet. But here it is.

CARS LAND:
With just a few weeks left to go, Cars Land is about to open to the world on June 15th. Of course, if you have the money you can see it earlier.

SOAK CITY OPEN SATURDAY MAY 19th:
If you weren't lucky enough to get a spot in the Gumball Rally then you might want to go to Knott's Soak City for their opening day of the season

With slides and attractions for kids of all ages, Soak City is filled with summertime fun. Thrill seekers can take their turn down Old Man Falls or Pacific Spin. If floating leisurely down a lazy river is more your speed, grab an inner tube and jump in to Sunset River. Tickets are available online for $25.99 (ages 12 and up) and $22.99 (ages 3-11)!

KNOTT'S RELEASES THE LOGO FOR KNOTT'S SCARY FARM'S 40th:



Knott's Berry farm is under some intense pressure from the fans this year (us included) for Haunt. Why? Because it will be Knott's Scary Farm's 40th Anniversary. But if you want more information from them you have to visit their KSF Facebook page and give them a like. Once they reach 10,040 likes, they will begin sharing more info!

GHOST TOWN:
The work at the front of Ghost town is nearly complete. This was to build a more wheelchair accessible ramp for the restrooms here.





Work near the Medicine Man cart has finished up and all is back to normal.

WINDSEEKER:
Finally, Windseeker has reopened.








SNOOPY'S STARLIGHT SPECTACULAR:
Knott's announced the Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular was returning and they are already setting it up.




Starlight Spectacular is a really cute and upbeat event.




Welcome to another SeaWorld San Diego update. We are about one week away from the opening of Manta and the beginning of Summer Nights and the park is going under last minute refurbishments and touch ups before the big crowds rush in next Saturday.


The “Pay for a day, play all year” promotion is still available. Normally, this promotion ends in April, so it’s interesting SeaWorld is still letting it go. We just renewed our passes, and suggest you do the same before Manta opens.


Lights have been put back up around the SkyTower for Summer Nights.

LAST MINUTE PREPARATIONS:
The walkway between Manta and Rocky Point Preserve is blocked from park guests as new cement work is going on.


SeaWorld released this image on their Facebook showing off the new Manta sign on the rockwork at the front of the attraction. Looks beautiful.

The only questionable think about this attraction at the moment is the lack of landscaping at the rear of the attraction. While we are a week away, and anything could happen from now till then, SeaWorld hasn’t been touching this area, and honestly…it doesn't look very good in that portion of the ride area.




New walkways have been put up at the ride queue.


Workers are painting the cement floor blue to make it look more realistic when the water is added. The rock work at the front of the attraction is quite breathtaking!


SeaWorld released this image showing off their projection screen – where the ride will begin. Hopefully those doors will be closed when guests are in here so there isn't so much sun reflection!


After guests leave the tunnel, you dip and skid across the water – under the bridge – before being lifted over fifty feet.

A couple of things to notice here. First, notice the touch pool has been filled. Guests can also go underneath the touch pool for the aquarium – which is why there are windows in the touch pool. Also, SeaWorld was testing the ride several times while we were there – which happens daily.




More fencing work has been done around the launch of the ride.


The restrooms near the show buildings have been painted blue and have received some brick work.

OTHER HAPPENINGS:
This is the last weekend to check out Viva La Musica!


Rehearsals have been going on all day for Cirque De La Mer’s return next week and the new trampoline act. If you look to the left side of the image, you can see part of the Viva La Musica stage.



Walls surrounding the restrooms and the Shamu Store have been brought down, opening the gap between them and the work walls around Shamu Stadium.

Next Week: MANTA!
Next week is a big week for SeaWorld. On Thursday and Friday, pass holders can ride Manta before it opens! We will be covering this in the next update. On Saturday, we will be at the opening ceremony of Manta and will be filming it for the first webisode of “In The Parks” – a brand new weekly series with updates from your favorite theme parks.

We have also been trying to update you on Wild Arctic. Unfortunately, Wild Arctic was going under refurbishment when we visited the park this week. Look out for an update in the near future.

Welcome to In the Parks! Your weekly photo update of Southern California theme parks and destinations. We have a massive update for you today. Disney Legend Alice Davis was finally honored with a window on Main Street U.S.A. right next to her husband, Marc Davis. The Matterhorn is testing daily and the Shootin' Gallery is under refurbishment. Next up, we scope out Disney California Adventure as we hit the home stretch in the park's overhaul and gawk in amazement at the new details on Buena Vista Street. Finally, we get the latest from Knott's Berry Farm, take in some magic at Six Flags and trim things up with a look at Sea World's highly anticipated Manta family coaster. Better settle in, this is going to be a great update.

TRAM ROUTE:
It seems that even the Disneyland Resort trams aren't immune to the dangers of roadwork. Repaving has added a slight delay to the tram route due to this.






ALICE DAVIS GETS HER WINDOW ON MAIN STREET:
Thursday morning, just a little after the planned 8am start time, A ceremony was held on Main Street U.S.A to honor legendary costume designer Alice Davis. Alice was responsible for the costumes in such classic Disney attractions as it's a small world and Pirates of the Caribbean.





The area under the window was decorated with Alice Davis' beautiful work.




The window, next to her dearly departed husband Marc Davis (himself an amazing Imagineering legend), behind a purple velvet curtain.

The event began with a litany of Disney Legends swarming to the white fold-up seats in front of the Main Street Cinema and Disneyana. People like Bob Gurr, Jack Lindquist, and others streamed in to celebrate an illustrious career. As the area filled up the Dapper Dans sang to the crowd.

When all of the sudden, a band of pirates burst out of Disneyana


They serenaded Alice with their own versions of the Pirates song


Then Mickey arrived and...


unveiled the lovely new window that is right next to her husband, Marc Davis


The curtain dropped and got snagged on Mickey's ear, lol.



Alice said that none of this would be worth anything without the friends that surround her.




Oscar Martinez (Chef of the Carnation Cafe and first Parks and Resorts cast member to reach the 55-year milestone with the company) came by to say hello too!


Alice was also given a miniature version of the window to take home

Congratulations Alice. Your achievements are many and it is fitting that a talented, friendly woman like you be honored this way, surrounded by friends, fans, peers and loved ones. You are indeed the seamstress to the stars and you deserve every bit of this honor.


CARNATION CAFE:
A new structure has popped up behind the walls at the Carnation Café.







SHOOTIN' GALLERY:
The Frontierland shooting gallery is currently having its porch rebuilt. Don't worry folks, the petrified posts (or fiberglass replicas of the originals) remain and are still standing.









MATTERHORN:
It's exciting to see the Matterhorn take such a beautiful path. We agree with the remarks we hear constantly that it has, once again, affirmed its place as a theme park icon. Vehicles can be seen testing on a regular basis, however the caverns still await the snowman's roar.

PRINCESS FANTASY FAIRE:

Little progress can be detected thus far at the Princess Fantasy Faire site.










GRAD NIGHT:
The preparations are now visible as Grad nights get underway.


Light towers have gone up on the sides of the castle.

BUENA VISTA STREET:
What can be said that is not depicted in the pictures below? the detail that continues to be layered on this area of the park that will serve as an impressive apology to theme park fans for the hackneyed postcard look from 2001.

We'd also like to give you a heads up that lunch and dinner reservations are now being taken for the Carthay Circle restaurant. You can reach Disney Dining at: 714-781-3463. The restaurant opens to the public on June 15th.

Zipping along on the Monorail, one can even see work progressing on top of the buildings. Impressive.

Just look at that detail folks. Can you believe that this is DCA?!



The FFP artwork is finished on the side of the building. Just don't call the new Starbucks the "Pig Cafe." Disney doesn't want that name to slip out. So we won't be calling it the Pig Cafe. No sir, no Pig Cafe here.






More relief work that we adore. The shapes, textures, depth and detail here is stunning.








MAD T PARTY:
And then there is the Mad T Party. While it promises to look impressive at night, the daytime Coachella aesthetic isn't exactly up to the standard of what we just looked at in Buena Vista Street. But this IS all temporary, so we'll just hope that the Mad T Party runs its course and they remove all this in time to do a high quality Phase 2 in Hollywood Land soon.

















The design on the Drink Me booth is interesting.


The table is a light fixture.


Get it?


The T Party is definitely an acid trip to look at.

CARS LAND:
As Al Lutz reported in an earlier update, the character meet and greet in front of It's Tough to be a Bug has gone behind the construction screens to become the Fast Pass location for Radiator Springs Racers.




Mater's can be heard going through its motions on a daily basis. It's one loud ride.




Don't step on the paint job!




Beach ball update. They are still there. Although we don't expect them to remain for long, we sure hope they make it to opening day. They look like they add to the fun.

Unfortunately, the testing news from the ride is not good. Lots of operational issues, from difficulty controlling the vehicles (they don't turn well) to excessive wait times.

GHIRARDELLI:
Not much to show you at Ghirardelli. And we have the pics to prove it. ;)







TASTE PILOTS:
They have begun touching up the facade for Taste Pilots Grill since the jet has been removed.

MOTHER'S DAY:

Love your mom? Want to make sure that she loves you back? Then don't forget Mother's Day is Sunday, May 13th.

GHOST TOWN:
The restroom refurb campaign continues as the location at the entry to Ghost town has gone behind walls. It's OK, there is plenty of pop music to guide you to the next outlet.

WINDSEEKER:
Ok so we have the scoop on Windseeker. The manufacturer is creating a new piece of equipment for the attraction and both this version, and the one in Ohio are grounded until the part can be installed. This is a new type of ride system and as they build each one, they learn a bit more about how to make the ride function better. The Knott's website says that the ride is planned for re-opening on May 26th, in time for Memorial day. But that will depend on whether or not the manufacturer can produce the needed parts in time.


The shot that so many other sites have imitated.






See? There's a hard hat!



They were expecting the part to be delivered and the ride to be operating again already, so it's now just a waiting game. Should be back soon.


FIESTA VILLAGE:
The shops in the Fiesta Village Mall are getting a refurbishment.







IN A SLURRY:

Areas in both Camp Snoopy and the Boardwalk area were repaved and coated with slurry.



You can see old and new here. Green is the new smooth pavement and the red will soon follow.










The boardwalk area is also getting some attention (though we wish we could report on something REALLY interesting like a new family dark ride). Keep wishing on a star folks and someday our dreams may just come true.

We want to wish the classic roller coaster, Revolution a happy 36th birthday. The ride has seen better days, but it's still a classic and will hopefully be brought back to it's original glory sometime soon.

ORIENT EXPRESS:

Quite a few changes up at Magic Mountain since our last update. Lex Luthor is looking closer to being complete and a new spiel has been added to the Orient Express.





LEX LUTHOR DROP OF DOOM:
Track has been placed on the side of Superman for the new drop tower.



A closer look reveals that the track goes almost to the top of the tower.



The white in this picture are the magnetic brakes.

Work continues at the top of the tower, there is still a lot of work to be done.


The entry and exit area continues to take shape






The side of the old arcade building is getting some work done now as well.

AROUND THE PARK:
The park is getting ready for their upcoming Grad Nights.









What The Fried had it's signage removed since our last update. Could this be because it's never open?




BEFORE

They are still advertising the Dole Whips outside though



The tree near Bugs Bunny World still needs some attention. But if rumors about this area being re-themed to Full Throttle are true, it would explain why maintence on the props here have been spotty.


Another new Advertiser in the park. Oddly enough, IOA is the abbreviation for some other theme park.

SKY TOWER:
As we reported on our last update, the Sky Tower museum is gone. The Sky Tower was open and this is how it looks now. The ride op working the attraction had no idea if it was ever coming back. The memorabilia was hard to maintain and clean as they were constantly afraid they would break something.





HURRICANE HARBOR:
Hurricane Harbor is getting ready for it's opening over Memorial Weekend. Water is returning to the pools and slides.






Here is another SeaWorld San Diego update. The weather is great and there is much to update you on, so let’s get a move on.

VIVA LA MUSICA:
This weekend was the first of three weekends for the Viva La Musica music festival.



Unlike previous years, the festival is held in the back of the park around Cirque Stadium. Before, the festival was held in different areas around the park.







In front of the stadium, musicians come and perform for the visitors.


There are different booths which sell some great merchandise.




In order to attend the concert, you must get a wristband. There are two concerts a day, one at 4:00PM and the other at 6:30PM.


Depending on the color wristband you have, you enter at specific queues.


There are a couple of different food choices. This station – called “All Fired Up” – only serves two fish or two beef tacos (which don’t come with much and sell at $6.99) and other small snacks.



SeaWorld has placed the Viva La Musica concert stage in front of the new trampoline structure for Cirque.



In front of the stadium, you can get advanced tickets to upcoming concerts.


You can also get a Baja Hot Dog. They’re quite large and look great. Totally worth the price.

MANTA:



SeaWorld has placed a diagram on the park map showing the layout of Manta.



They are working hard on a new building next to the show building.


By the look of this photo, we’re pretty sure it will be a couple of restrooms and a drinking fountain.


SeaWorld has posted this photo showing the completed dome at the beginning of the ride. Is it possible for anyone to not be excited about this ride? We've only got about two weeks left untill the opening.


Walls have been pushed forward at the front of the attraction.


Not much work is being done at the back end of the attraction. I would love to see rock work or something here. On the park map, it doesn’t show much either. It will be quite sad if SeaWorld leaves it like this. At least some more landscaping would be nice

REFURBISHMENT UPDATE:

Walls have also been moved forward on the construction in front of Shamu Stadium.





Not much room to move in-between these walls!



We’ll soon be taking a closer look at the Manta construction as we countdown to May 26th! Plus, we’ll finally take a look around Wild Arctic.




THE SOUND OF MUZAK:
Imagineer, Steve Davison (of Haunted Mansion Holiday, World of Color, fabulous fireworks and parades) does a lot more than design night time extravaganzas. He also stages some pretty amazing choir performances in Long Beach. His latest creation is called The Sound of Muzak.

Poor Maria! All her life she's dreamed of being a lounge singer in Reno, but growing up in a failing convent-turned-mall run by the Sisters isn't as fabulous as she would like. She receives a new lease on life (and a reprieve from the hot-dog-on-a-stick cart) when she goes to assist the owner of the mall daycare manage unruly children. Will Maria find love or will she receive the calling? Will the Sisters save the mall or will they lose their home to a certain goose-stepping jeweler? These questions (and more) will be answered when SCC presents "The Sounds of Muzak.

Welcome to In the Parks, your weekly dose of Southern California theme park news. Disneyland's Matterhorn has begun testing and is prepping for its June 15th return and we think you'll like what we have to show you today. We also have pic of the new Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor, Penny Arcade and Candy Palace renovations. At the same time, Disney California Adventure is getting noticeably closer to Cars Land and Buena Vista Street officially debuting on June 15th (and unofficially opening even earlier than that). From Disney, we'll stroll through Knott's Berry Farm for the latest news there. And we'll wrap things up at Universal Studios Hollywood with Transformers in Technical Rehearsal mode and some of the new merchandise offered.


Last Notice Before Gumball Rally Sells Out For 2012!

The Downtown Disney Lego Store reopened recently. The exterior is a Lego/Disney fan's dream with exquisite Lego recreations of famous Disney moments. Most impressive is the Maleficent dragon atop the structure breathing neon green fire down on a Lego Prince Phillip. Beautiful work.



The facade also features scenes from some of your favorite Disney/Pixar films.

MAIN STREET:
Wednesday morning, after a pre-opening dedication and ribbon cutting attended by Club 33 members and invited guests, Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor, Candy Palace and the Penny Arcade returned from a long refurbishment and reopened for business. There were a lot of suits fluttering about adjusting and managing everything.



Let's start with Gibson Girl. In short, it's stunning. They have pushed the service counter to the back wall and lavished beautiful art nouveau wooden ornamentation everywhere.

Unfortunately, the big glass elephant's luck seems to have run out, as he is no longer part of the parlor.

The Penny Arcade.
This is where some of you may have a hard time. They have taken the Starcade approach here and used the arcade machines as a theming element rather than an actual experience. The penny arcade movies are still here, Esmerelda still tells fortunes, and the organ still plays. But they have all been sidelined by a larger cash wrap, a new larger case for pastries, cookies and candies and the like. Regardless, the detail here is top-notch work. Really quite beautiful.

There have been compromises made, but we feel they were well measured. This is not a WDW style loss of quality just to serve the masses. A great deal of care went into making the store look absolutely beautiful, while keeping at least a flavor of the old arcade.

CANDY PALACE:
The biggest expansion is, of course, Candy Palace. The tiny kitchen of the past is gone. In its place is a kitchen that is three times bigger with even more windows to view the craft of the confectioners. Another possible sour note for some is the removal of the indoor seating area for Coke corner. It is now, more candy display area.










As with the Emporium and Star Trader expansions, the cash wraps have been pushed to the walls and queues have been installed. This will certainly help with traffic, as there are many more registers than before and less dead space.

Some may think that the redo was a move in the wrong direction, veering ever closer to the WDW business model of homogenized stores and eateries. But, we feel that the added attention to detail and better traffic flow is actually a plus. We lament the loss of the elephant and further erosion of the Penny Arcade, but are glad that the overall theme and detail is even richer than before. MATTERHORN:
The scaffolds around the Matterhorn are now gone and the ride has been testing with the new sleds. We've got to say that we've never seen the mountain look better.

We reached out to Ron Esposito, the Art Director responsible for repainting the Matterhorn, to see if he would be interested in commenting on the project now that it is wrapping up. Here's what he had to share, "The project has been a wonderful experience as a consulting field art director, responsible for the artistic painting of the Matterhorn. The team work on the project, was and is, at the highest level, from the beginning to the final product. Fantastic team work!" Ron is a former WDI Executive Field Production Designer and currently heads Esposito Enterprises, which works on amazing themed projects all over the world.

PRINCESS FANTASY FAIRE:
Sadly, the Carnation Gardens has hosted its last dance (at least for now). The area is behind construction walls and is being transformed into Princess Fantasy Faire. The stage will actually be renovated and used by the princesses by day and reportedly converted back to swing dancing on select weekend evenings.








The transformation will be dramatic.


Disneyland fought for and got the budget to do the more ornate version of this project.



As much of a change as this project will be, we think it will bring more positive and rich theme to the area. Since the Rancho Del Zocalo redo years ago, this little corner has just been a simple flat set with a tent, stage, and some outdoor seating. Aside from school groups using the stage, it wasn't an active area in the park and had lost much of its charm (aside from the beautiful gardens). Additionally, the new Princess Fantasy Faire will free up the Fantasyland Theater to stage productions once again. All in all, we think the end result will be a net positive for the park and the guests.

IF A TREE FALLS IN A THEME PARK:
At just around 3pm on Sunday a tree fell in a rather precarious spot at DCA - where the temporary entrance dumps crowds into the path between Condor Flats and Grizzly. The mid-sized tree fell towards the walkway and was stopped by a guard rail. This allowed fast acting cast members to quickly block off the area and funnel all traffic towards Soarin', closing off the path to Grizzly and the hotel.








We haven't heard anything about injuries. This was just one of those random events. Much thanks to MiceChat reader, Rob, for sending us these photos!

BUENA VISTA STREET:
Here we are in the home stretch for Buena Vista Street and the opening of DCA. It is really impressive how it is all coming along.

Just under the bridge and through to Buena Vista Circle the park is coming together.

Carthay Circle Theater:
Inside, the Carthay Circle Theater restaurant is mostly complete and going through the steps of becoming an operational restaurant in time for the walls to come down just before the June 15th target date. Club 33 members have been invited to an expensive $500 dinner in the new restaurant, along with early access to Cars Land and Buena Vista Street in early June.







We were given just one word to describe the new restaurant by someone who's been inside "Stunning." We can't wait to see for ourselves.

MAD T PARTY:
Over in Hollywood Pictures Backlot, the more compact, Mad T Party layover of the area is progressing. The wild, swirling colors have begun to appear as the main stage in front of Monsters is completed.

CARS LAND:
Here is what is visible at the Cars Land site. Just think. In less than a month and a half visitors will be streaming up and down this street. So exciting!

toying with the Beach Ball idea.

SCREAMIN' QUEUE:
The canopies over the Screamin' queue are fully installed. They kind of remind us of the tops of the changing booths at turn of the century beach resorts. It's a cheap fix for a bad queue, but if it wasn't in the budget, at least it looks better than it was before.






MOTHER'S DAY:
Love your mom? Want to make sure that she loves you back? Then don't forget Mother's Day is Sunday, May 13th.

ANNUAL PASS PROCESSING CENTER:
The old gift shop structure at the exit gates of the park has been refurbished and cleverly repurposed as a full service season pass processing center.





If you've been in the old passport processing center, you know what a nice upgrade this is.

GHOST TOWN:
And then there's Ghost town, the area of the park we love the most. The work in front of Spurs Chop house has finished and we see that they resurfaced a small patch of the walkway in front of the patio.

RIPTIDE:
Riptide is down for more routine maintenance.









The summer crush of visitors is still a few weeks away, but Universal is ready with its newest attraction already open in technical rehearsals (soft openings). But lots of little projects are going on to spruce up the park in preparation for what will likely be a record breaking summer.


UPPER LOT:
A new photo op has appeared near Shrek 4D.


STUDIO TOUR:
In honor of Universal Studios' 100th Anniversary, new video segments have been added to the Studio Tour. These new segments feature actors, directors and producers who have called the Universal Studios back lot home.






The iconic Chick Ranch is getting some work done.


Now that production on Desperate Housewives has ended, the sound stages that housed the various sets are being deconstructed so the next production can move in. Wisteria Lane is also being de-Housewived so the homes won't be recognizable in future productions. Currently the namesake wisteria (which was 100% plastic) is being stripped away and houses are being repainted.







THE MUMMY:
The Mummy lockers are once again closed as they are expanded. Guests must now use the lockers underneath the Starway adjacent to the Jurassic Park splash down area.


TRANSFORMERS:
Transformers: The Ride 3D is working out the kinks during its Technical rehearsal. Everything from ride mechanics to crowd control are getting attention so that all goes smoothly on opening day, May 25th.


The outdoor extended queue is ready to hold massive crowds this summer. Notice the temporary barriers that can be quickly set up if needed. The Recharging Station is the dedicated home Energon, the new signature beverage of Transformers

TRANSFORMERS MERCH:
Meanwhile, in the gift shop, we decided to take a close look at the myriad of merchandise options ready for eager fans to snap up. some of the new items are actually pretty cool and we already have a favorite shirt. Robots in disguise, lol. Classic.

JURASSIC PARK QUEUE:
Construction along the JP queue is wrapping up. A triceratops skeleton themed play area was built and should open soon.












THE NBC UNIVERSAL EXPERIENCE:
After closing briefly while the lower lot was being repaved, the NBCUniversal Experience has reopened with some new exhibits.


















THE SOUND OF MUZAK:
Imagineer, Steve Davison does a lot more than design night time extravaganzas. He also stages some pretty amazing choir performances with the SCC of Long Beach. His latest creation is called The Sound of Muzak.

Poor Maria! All her life she's dreamed of being a lounge singer in Reno, but growing up in a failing convent-turned-mall run by the Sisters isn't as fabulous as she would like. She receives a new lease on life (and a reprieve from the hot-dog-on-a-stick cart) when she goes to assist the owner of the mall daycare manage unruly children. Will Maria find love or will she receive the calling? Will the Sisters save the mall or will they lose their home to a certain goose-stepping jeweler? These questions (and more) will be answered when SCC presents "The Sounds of Muzak.
