The Perfect Moment

It occurred for me on December 12, 2000. Sheryl and I were in Disneyland, enjoying a beautiful day, talking, laughing, holding hands as friends, lovers might do. We were kids again enjoying all the rides, attractions and food that the land had to offer. The seconds slipped by like hours and it felt like we had all the time in the world. We were young, we didn't care.

The day turned to night. We wandered our way over to Fantasmic. We found our places to stand for the next showing. We were there early so no crowds were to be seen. Sheryl flew off to find us some Hot Cocoa for us to enjoy in the cool night air. When she returned she also carried two Chocolate Chip cookies. It seemed like a meal of the Gods. I still today have the cookie wrapper in a place of memories. I have to admit that I don't remember clearly the show because most of the time I was looking into Sheryl's face or at times, nuzzling her neck. The finale of the show was here. The fireworks were firing and I remember taking Sheryl into my arms and giving her a kiss that never seemed to end. That perfect moment had arrived. Everything was frozen around us. As we were deep into our passion, cheers roared up from the crowd. Their cheers were for us and our love. That perfect moment had ended. It will stay in my heart forever.
