WELCOME TO DISNEYLAND!
Guests arriving at the Resort are being met with big ads for the upcoming Toy Story (Midway) Mania! on I-5 and at the Resort.

I find the campaign a little vague. What exactly is "Toy Story Mania!"? A ride? A parade? A show?

Cast Members at the parking toll booths are passing out flyers for the Indiana Jones: Summer of Hidden Mysteries promotion.

Speaking of Indy, the Summer of Hidden Mysteries is well underway now, and the events are a small, but nice addition to Adventureland.

SMALL WORLD, TOON TOWN,
AND EAR HAT FACTORY
The "it's a small world" sign is stripped down...

Over in Mickey's Toon Town, Donald's Boat is getting some TLC.

The pond underneath Gadget's Go Coaster is also dry while the connecting water for Donald's Boat is drained during the Boat's refurb.

The fire truck photo op in front of the Toon Town Fire Department is missing.

Inside the Toon Town Gag Warehouse a new Create-Your-Own Ear Hat display opened.

Custom Embroidery - $7.00 per line (there are two font choices, and six color choices)

HOT DOG HUT
Over at DCA Paradise Pier continues to shape up nicely as more and more construction walls come down. Last weekend, the walls came down around the new Hot Dog Hut -- and it looks great!

It's just unfortunate that pre-made hot dogs sitting in outdoor vending warmers is the food choice for this location.

Yet another excellent update!
You know, this is the first time I've seen any advertising that actually mentions Toy Story Mania is at California Adventure Park... Everything on TV mentions the Disneyland Resort, which (while technically correct) seems a little misleading... Glad to see that there's finally something pointing guests in the right direction.
The new Hot Dog location looks fantastic, but I agree about the whole pre-made thing... Can you imagine how much business they'd draw with freshly grilled hot dogs? Imagine the heavenly scent wafting over guests as they pass, it would drive folks mad... The thought alone is making me hungry...
I love how everything is beginning to come together... DCA is gonna be beautiful if they stay on this path!Posted 05-30-2008 at 10:58 AM by headkaes

My Opinion
I kind of like the TSMM marketing tactic. It gives an idea of what it is like, but is a little bit generic. Especially the colar design. At WDW, there is a giant TOT with a moving elevator falling. What happened to marketing like that?
As for the Make-An-Ear station, it is awesome . Some people don't like the generic black hats people have on all through the park. The new hats are also great souvenirs. It's personal.
Those are my theories, and I'm sticking to 'em.Posted 05-30-2008 at 11:39 AM by MickeyM

I see Disneyland RESORT on the trash cans in the Main Entry Plaza... I'm kind of tired of the whole "this is misleading" argument.
And TSMM ads being generic? Not much different than Indy's summer event. Pretty much everyone I talk to in the park don't know what it is. I explain that all the time. I would have never guessed the parking booths were handing out Indy ads, unless those are VERY recent. But I hear the shows get filled quickly anyways.Posted 06-02-2008 at 12:17 AM by filmfreak11

$2.75 for a Soda? $3.75 for a VITAMIN WATER? BOTH of these beverages are $1.29 elsewhere. God God. This rat trap has NO shame about ripping off tourists as well as brain-dead passholders who buy into this garbage. (I bet the same nimrods who buy pins hahahahahahahahah).Posted 06-02-2008 at 01:53 AM by sixflagsrules
