WELCOME TO DISNEYLAND!
The Honda Pilot and Toy Story Midway Mania cross-promotion is being heavily pushed to arriving guests.

Work continues in the Sleeping Beauty Castle Walk-Through and it appears that guests will soon be able to once again experience the small, but memorable attraction in Fantasyland. The LA Times' Brady MacDonald talked about the Castle re-opening earlier this week on his Funland theme park blog.

An Imagineer was taking a look at the project...

...before closing up shop for the day.

FRENCH MARKET'S NEW MENU
The French Market re-opened after a brief one-day closure in which it received a new "healthier" menu.

A CM has been notifying guests that the old favorites like fried chicken and steak fries are no longer available at the restaurant.

Unfortunately, no display plates of the new entrees were available.

FUTURE GLITCHES
The waterfalls at the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage have continued to not be in perfect working order even since the exit waterfall rebuild was completed. It appears now, however, that both waterfalls are now once again working like new - and they look great.
The entry waterfall is no longer just a trickle.

Work on the delayed Innoventions Dream Home continues and suits and workers can routinely be seen working on the new exhibit.

Innoventions' Project Tomorrow area seems to be having problems, too. The Power City game has been closed for a couple weeks now, and the Future Choice Stations which recently came online were down this week.

Coming Soon? Deja vu?

THIS AND THAT
For months, the vintage ticket and ticket book display case in the Main Street Opera House lobby was "Under Renovation," but the tickets have once again returned.

The ticket exhibit is popular with guests coming to see the over-stayed Disneyland: The First 50 Magical Years show.

All of these old tickets are in excellent condition.

Over at Disney's California Adventure, umbrellas have finally arrived to save guests from the harsh Paradise Pier sun waiting in the outdoor queue at the new Toy Story Midway Mania attraction.

And a new small outdoor vending cart has been rolled out closer to the Midway Mania queue selling drinks and popcorn. The ODV cart features a nice midway game-themed popcorn bucket stand.

The cart is selling special Midway Mania popcorn buckets, too.

Over in the Golden State, the Grizzly River Run water wheel is no longer obscured by construction walls, but is now covered by tarps and scaffolding.

One of the look-out binoculars is missing.

ENCHANTED TIKI ROOM
MERCHANDISE ROUND-UP
Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room celebrated 45 years on Monday, June 23 and in honor of the milestone, Disneyland released a line of limited edition and fine art collectibles at the Disneyana store on Main Street, USA.

This isn't all of the merchandise. In fact, there's a lot left over from the merchandise event that many are saying was a complete disaster. After all this time, you'd think that Disney would know to have an adequate amount of product on hand for a merchandise event for an attraction that is adored by fans and collectors.

Nevertheless, there was a lot of great merchandise available and even more of it can be seen at the Disney Gallery website.

That should wrap it up for this week. Thanks as always for reading, and be sure to post your comments and feedback below.

See you next week,
Andy

Great update (as usual). I loved seeing the Tiki room merchandise. But one thing, in the picture of the Tiki Room t-shirt, did the very obvious creases bother anyone else? As a veteran of the good old days of The Disney Store, that's just bad show. Right?Posted 06-27-2008 at 07:31 AM by dgo33

I love that they call shot glasses "toothpick holders". I've noticed that before, and it always elicits a little chuckle. I ALWAYS make sure my toothpick holders measure exactly one or two ounces of toothpick! Cool merch - I may have to go this weekend and see if there's anything I can't live without!Posted 06-27-2008 at 08:46 AM by ltlmrm8

Ah ha! I knew those construction walls were for the walk thru. Folks on my blog doubted me when I posted the same pics a few weeks ago (link), looks like maybe I was right!
The ticket display was updated with tickets from Tony Baxter’s personal collection. Oh boy, he must have one heck of a collection, puts mine to shame... Here is a post I did back in May when I found the current display (link).
Thanks for the great update, super pictures!

I had overheard that the ticket book collection was on loan from Tony Baxter, but I wasn't sure. Silly me that I didn't catch the "jumbo" ticket book with his name on it when I was taking these photos. Great catch, great blog, and thanks for the info!Quote:Originally Posted by Disneyland TicketsAh ha! I knew those construction walls were for the walk thru. I didn't get the chance to grab a picture while I was in the parks on Wednesday but both Parks saw filming for something. Splash Mountain in front of the main drop wasn't sure what for but DCA had cameras for the Pixar Play Parade and in front of Toy Story Mania for a commercialPosted 06-27-2008 at 11:11 PM by JK020489
