Welcome to the HUGE December 8th Dateline Disneyland. As you can see, we've switched days for a while while David "Darkbeer" Michael takes some time off. You'll be able to find Dateline here on Mondays for the next few weeks. But don't worry, you can find all of that important Southern California theme park news at the end of today's column.

Alright - let's dig in!

WELCOME TO DISNEYLAND!

Set-up for Candlelight 2008 covered Town Square this weekend.

50 YEARS OF CANDLELIGHT
Candlelight 2008 marks the 50th Anniversary of the annual Christmas event. This year's event was guest narrated by actor and Disney enthusiast John Stamos.

The living, singing Christmas tree.

Special celebrity guest narrator John Stamos.

Happy 50th Anniversary to such a great Disneyland holiday tradition.

PARDONED TURKEYS
Disney released some publicity photos of the National Thanksgiving Turkeys acting as Honorary Grand Marshals for the "Christmas Fantasy" parade on Thanksgiving Day.

The turkeys, Pumpkin and Pecan, alternate in their on-stage home at Big Thunder Ranch.

THIS AND THAT
Fantasy Faire Gifts near "it's a small world" is now open after a brief refurbishment.

The damage on the Monorail beam next to Tomorrowland Terrace has been patched up. Looks like it needs more work though.

Over at DCA, work continues at Paradise Pier.

More of the popular Skyway and Monorail attraction poster shirts have arrived at the Fortuosity Shop on Main Street. These shirts are also available at the Star Trader in Tomorrowland.

And new Robert Olszewski Pokit Pals are available at Disneyana and World of Disney.

And the Disneyland Resort Hotels are all decked out for the holidays, too.

"Play in real snow!" at Grinchmas at Universal Studios...you should see how much snow we get to "play" in every year. When we were in Disneyland this spring, I left 5 foot snow banks in my front yard to run around in the California sunshine! We had to dress in layers for the flight home, as it was 28 degrees in CA and well below zero when we got home :O

    Great pics AGAIN!!
