BABY DUCKS and cleaning out my e-mail, did I mention BABY DUCKS?
OK, Wednesday afternoon I had one of the best days ever at Disneyland as I followed "Mom" and her dozen ducklings, the first ones of the year at Disneyland.

Not much in the news this week, but PLENTY of Refurb Walls in the parks.
Have you read Al yet?
Sorry, I like the flowers at the bottom, but the "centerpiece" still is AWFUL!

Yes, here at MiceAge we LOVE to mention when Disney does something good, but on the other hand, when they make a mistake (aka Screw up) we are not afraid of mentioning it. And this is a MAJOR mistake, and does not belong on Main Street.
LARGE CROWDS in the SoCal area for the next 2 months
Today is the start of Spring Break crowds. Yes, 8 weeks of schools being on vacation, of course, not at the same time. Disneyland is expanding its operating hours to deal with the expected large crowds.
And starting this coming Wednesday (March 11th), the Big West Basketball Tournament (NCAA) will be at the Anaheim Convention Center, just across the street from Disneyland.
If you want to attend (and thanks to the ESPNZone for the info), call 714-765-8980 and Mention code: BWC09 for a $10 discount on the session package.

And if you want to have fun, check out the ESPNZone on Thursday March 12th from 4 to 5:30 PM, as they will host the Big West Mascot Challenge.
Moose Museum!
OK, time to start cleaning out the Inbox....

And they are having an unadvertised Parking Lot Sale this weekend!, Well, I guess it is advertised now
Go to Long Beach (and bring your Broom)!

"Welcome Back Potter" starts this evening at the All American Melodrama in Long Beach, and if you are in the area, make sure and check it out.
And for the Billy/Bluegrass Fans, you will want to click on the link and make plans for March 11th and April 8th, as a couple of Billy's will be performing. Heck, maybe more than 2...
Planning a trip Disneyland in the near future?

While this is good at all Mimi's, the nearest one to Disneyland is on Harbor Blvd next to the Howard Johnson's. Oh yeah, I should plug them too...
Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel - Anaheim/Disneyland Park
Two great places, both Mimi's and HoJo's have great service, and get great reviews.
Gee, have you heard that Jack is Back....
(OK, have I said it is a slow news week...)

And while I am mentioning food, here is a FREE (with drink purchase) Arby's Roastburger.
Arby's (R) Extras exclusive... try the NEW Roast Burger on us!
And of course, a plug for the lovely Nancy Luna, aka Fast Food Maven...

Selected Photos from Darkbeer.Smugmug.com
OK, lots of photos to check out, and yes, there are LOTS of additional Baby Duck photos at the link

OK, last week, I posted a similar photo, but without the wall in the "center", the next day (Saturday) the "extra" walls were installed. I wonder why?

OK, last week the sign was MUCH more specific, directing folks from the "bridge" and the detour. Why did they change to a much LESS specific wording?

New Maps have been added to the DCA Refurb Walls. (Yes, the map itself has been part of Blue Sky for months)

Where is Cal-Trans?
Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho.....

Celebration Restaurant is behind schedule.

Once again, I need to thank you for coming here to MiceAge, it is "strange" to be a known person, but I do appreciate when guests come over and say hello when I am at the parks.
So on behalf of MiceAge (and my e-mail) Thanks so much for checking in, go have a Free Roastburger and have a GREAT weekend.

The animals are really such a big part of the park experience. If I was a bird of any type I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.Posted 03-06-2009 at 08:03 AM by RabidAlienz

Love the ducks!
Well shoot about the 11th. That is the birthday of the teacher I work for and we are playing hooky from school that day.
Regarding the Melodrama theater in Long Beach. I just saw their last production and it was lots of fun so expect this one will be too. Also went to see the Billies perform there in February and it was essentially the Green Team show. Lots of fun because they can say things they can't say at the park.

Great pics, Duckbeer. I felt like I was right there, obsessively following them around with you, except I didn't have to worry about what I looked like. I love that baby ducks always steal the show -- even in Disneyland. By the way, what was up with the men with the blue gloves and cardboard boxes? Duck wranglers? Were they trying to keep them off the walkways? That one shot of the guy with a packed handful of ducklings is priceless.Posted 03-06-2009 at 12:18 PM by PhantomBlot

Gotta say I find the Celebrate baloon photo-spot to be incredibly tacky looking--particularly inside of Main Street. If it were outside the front gate in the plaza between the parks, or over in Downtown Disney--I think it would work really well as a weenie to build interest--but inside the parks? yuckPosted 03-06-2009 at 02:00 PM by BrerDan
