First Day of Halloween Time: 9/25/09
Just wanted to post a few quick shots of my trip this morning. I'm also trying to make a move from Photobucket to Flickr, so we'll see how this goes.
First of all, the new Halloweentime banners are up all around DTD:

There were healthy lines at the security check just after 9 AM:

The Mickey pumpkin and his friends were back above the gates:

The California letters were not yet decked out in Candy Corn colors. Maybe that's coming next week:

The Mickey Floral has now incorporated some orange...

...and the light pole decorations are back...

And the giant Mickey pumpkin is back on Main Street...

This is the line that greeted me when I arrived at Ghost Galaxy just after 9:30 PM:

Not sure what these guys were up to:

The interior didn't seem to be changed that much, if at all...

One main difference is that the screen is now cutting in and out due to ghostly inter"fear"ance:

The signage in front:

The wait time had actually gone DOWN by the time I left...

One side of the Tomorrowland entrance was BLOCKED OFF!
Expect some MASSIVE gridlock there this weekend and people are pressing in from all directions to get to Ghost Galaxy:

I included a larger photo of the band director as these Halloween Time uniforms are incredible. I can't remember if the band had them last year, but check out the detail!

Very impressive!
Nemo and his dad are enjoying the orange plumes in the hats...

Goofy is light on his feet:

Pinocchio is thinking that it is WAY to hot to be dancing in the 95 plus degree heat:

A couple shots of Mickey....

He was kind enough to pose for this shot, but my auto focus was taking too long. He almost fell over.

Jack Skellington was back:

As well as the hefty lines for Haunted Mansion Holiday:

"Where did all these people come from? I can't bear to watch..."

Maleficent keeping an eye on New Orleans Square...

The pumpkins are back around the Partners Statue...

By 11 AM, the crowd began to grow...

Over in DCA, the Candy Corn was back...

Finally, the new time share area is finished in the Grand Californian. Just a couple of shots since you can now walk over there for the first time in over a year...

And I love this vintage auto parked out in front of the new addition:

Very cool.
That's all for now. Thanks for dropping by my blog!

I think so too, OP.
Thanks for posting! I also can't get over those band uniforms. I think those are new. I might ask that question to the mob in the forum. That spiderweb design and the orange....just too cool. I can't believe they shelled out that kind of money just for Halloweentime. I'm wondering if they have Christmas uniforms...I can't remember seeing any at the moment. In fact, I can't remember if the band even plays during the Christmas season. Hmmm...Posted 09-25-2009 at 10:25 PM by Mac Daddy

I was there today as well!! It was so hot and crowded that we left after a few hours. Everything looks good but we haven't gotten on Space Mountain yet. I did manage to snag a CM only Buddy Bear pin that is adorable though so it wasn't all a waste! I love your photos! Hopefully, we will get to go back next Tuesday or so when it is slower.Posted 09-25-2009 at 10:53 PM by Dragondance

Mac Daddy, sorry I don't think I've commented on your posts in a while, but thank you for taking all of these on the first day of Halloween Time! This is my favorite seasonal promotion at Disneyland, so I enjoy looking at all the festive decorations. Thanks again!!!
P.S. Yes, the band does have special Christmas uniforms, but I like the Halloween versions more.

Thanks so much for the update! Halloween Time is my absolute favorite, so it took everything in me not to call in sick and head to the park.
But, from the photos I'm kind of glad I didn't, since it appears there was quite a crowd. I'll give it a bit and try to aim for the middle of the week.
And I must say the detailed shot of the band leaders costume was awesome! I LOVE IT! I can't get over the design. And yes it has sparked a curiosity as to whether they were decorated in past years. Hmmm?
Thank you again for the fantastic update.
P.S. Love the signature shot you have of the crows flying over Carnation Cafe area @ dusk-ish. I tried to get the same shot awhile back, but my digital sucks-ish. So thank you.Posted 09-27-2009 at 04:10 PM by piratepixy

Thanks for the comments everyone.
I always feel guilty posting a photo update in the main forum when I haven't finished off my last photo thread, so I thought I would post a quick update to my blog instead. Hopefully I'll finish my Spring/Summer thread off either this week or next.
I suppose it might be good to finish it before Christmas...
