Why are there no more books of the Bible? I mean I know there's the Books of Mormon, but I mean after Revelation, which I understand is the "end of the Bible" but still.

God did some serious babbling to the writers of the books of the Bible 2,000+ years ago, why isn't he talking to anyone about writing some new books for the Bible?

Did he have everything he wanted to say to us all those years ago? Are there no updates or follow-ups?

And even if god is currently talking to someone and this someone is fevereshly writing everything god says word for word, how does he get his new book into the Bible? Does he go through a manager? Or a publisher?

I dunno. It just seems odd to me that god did all this talking to people who wrote books for the Bible all those years ago, and then POOF just stopped.

It is kind of odd, now that you think about it. Then again, drug laws have gotten stricter in all countries. I suspect that has something to do with it.

I don't think he stopped. I think people stopped listening. Too many distraction to keep them FROM listening. Though i guess if he wanted to he could set your computer on fire and speak to you that way

How sad that the ad that pops up with this blog is a Yes on 8 ad banner.

Maybe the right person isn't listening to what is trying to be said.

Interesting mamabot. Now I have a "Christianity" ad at the bottom. Must be some link or something that whatever theme you make a blog about, it matches that to a certain ad database and voila, you get Yes on 8 hater ads (a campaign run by Christian hate mongers), and religion pushers. Hmmmm.

And now no ads. I am glad that there are smart people who help run this board to keep us relatively free from the hate mongers. A gay man should be free to discuss the bible without having religion shoved in his face.

ETA: The banners are back. Oy!

Your blog ads must think I need to study because at the top I get a link to christianity.com to study the bible online. The bottom ad is to learn biblical hebrew online.

Matt, just what did you tell these ad people about me?

Maybe God has decided that He has already told us everything we need to know- meaning He offered Jesus through death on the cross as the only sacrifice for the sins of man, the only way to eternal life with Him. Maybe God's decided He'd just like to see who is going to take Him at His word and choose to follow Him? Maybe another reason altogether!

I thought you were going one way with this and then I thought different. I remember a book came out earlier this year, or last year, about books left out of the bible. That book said that the Council of Trent met from 1545 to 1563 to decide which books went into the bible.

Then I thought you were talking about the hows & whys of the writers being considered. This article, Who decided what books got into the Bible?, talks about how authors were considered: Was the book written by an apostle, etc., etc.

Finally, RE: Prop. 8 and it's lovely proponents, when did these people forget about the whole "life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness" deal?
