I can't tell you how thankful I am for MiceChat right now. Things haven't been going too well today and it seems like MC here is the only good thing I got at the moment.

Thanks guys. It all started when I looked at a 401K portfolio I had at a previous job, and found that the 25,000$ I had in it last year was now at 3,000$. I called Fidelity about it, they said that the stocks I was invested in were still going down and they advised that I roll it over to another account. Since I didn't have another account, I asked to do the payout to avoid the risk of losing it all.

The next blow came when I called my wife to let her know about what was going on. Instead of being supportive she got mad that I didn't roll it over to a new account (nevermind the risk that that account might do just as bad), and that now we have to pay taxes on it. Bottom line.. I got scared and acted on impulse and all of a sudden I couldn't do anything right anymore.

Today is turning out a lot better since I got a full nights sleep and my boss is in hearings all day.

Have a great day everyone and thanks for your concern.

I have a few friends that were really hit hard with the same problem. No one really knew what was going to happen and moving money around without penalties is a pain in the arse. The banks certainly don't make it easy.

I recommend a hot chocolate after work... if you like hot chocolate that is. Always makes my night better.
