Weekend Update: Gumball Rally, Hurricane Harbor, South Korea Everland, StarWars Wknd

We're lucky to add a new correspondent to the Weekend Update team. MiceChatter Jaime Begley is living in South Korea and has promised to share photos as she travels around that country during her stay. Her first report takes us to the very unique Everland Theme Park. Also this week, sir clinksalot shows us around Six Flags Hurricane Harbor and Denise Nbodyhome Preskitt shares some photos of the ever popular Star Wars Weekend at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
First up this week, we honor those brave souls who are participating in this week's Gumball Rally at the Disneyland Resort by taking a look back at some photos from last year's West Coast Gumball Rally:

As many of you read this on Saturday, almost 250 Disney fanatics will be racing around the Disneyland Resort in an attempt to experience every attraction in Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure.
We'll have same-day photo coverage of the Gumball Rally throughout the day.
Check out the MiceChat front page HERE to see our photos as they are posted.

Entrants will be in pursuit of the ultimate Disney collectible - the rare and coveted Gumball Rally trophy.

In honor of those who are spending their Saturday participating in this crazy challenge, we offer this look back at the 2008 West Coast Gumball Rally.

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor
Valencia, California
sir clinksalot takes us to Six Flags Magic Mountain's sister park: Hurricane Harbor.

Quote:
Dive into the wet, wild world of Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. You'll splish-splash into a world of fun at our 22-acre water park. Enjoy two of the tallest fully-enclosed speed slides in Southern California, a 1,300-foot river, a wave pool, an interactive lagoon and a kids' play area.

Hmmm, which what should we do first?

Maybe to get some Play Money, assuming you don't want to carry your wallet around all day. You can pre-load the bracelet with cash and use it all day for food, drinks, souveniers and inner-tubes.

Cabana Brothers has everything you need to make your day at the park enjoyable.

Are you brave enough to ride Tornado?

Or perhaps the ever popular racing slide, Bamboo Racer

Maybe a day hanging out at the Forgotten Sea is more your speed.

Black Snake Summit is the tallest slide structure in the park and features 5 different slides.

Shipwreck Shores is the parks kiddie area

Be Careful you don't get swallowed by giant skittles tongue man.

Everland Resort
South Korea
MiceChatter Jaime Begley is living in South Korea and has generously offered to share photos of that country. First up is a trip to Everland, a theme park which has been compared by some to Disneyland.
Quote:
Everland Resort is a theme park in Yongin, a city in Gyeonggi-do province, South Korea. Everland is South Korea's largest theme park. In 2007, Everland ranked tenth in the world for amusement park attendance. Along with its main attractions, Everland also includes a zoo and a water park known as Caribbean Bay. Everland is operated by Samsung Everland, which is a subsidiary of the Samsung Group.
Everland is often compared to Disneyland by those who have visited both parks, as some consider the architecture, scale, themes and general atmosphere to be very similar.
The name of the park is of note, as the name is "Everland" of English origin. In Korean, the name is approximated as "Ebeolaende" - in other words, there is no authentic Korean name for the park. This park was formerly called "Ja Yeon Nong Won."

Join us next week as Jaime takes us on a fascinating tour of the Korean Demilitarized Zone.
