Around the world we go again this weekend, but not without a stop in the worlds of Disney. First up, Mark Gonzales shares a unique perspective on Tomorrowland. Then we hop over to Florida to see some cool shots from Moviejohn and we get a first look at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party shared by Denise Preskitt. Then it's London bound with TDLFAN, a Chicago trip with sir clinksalot and part two of Ian Parkinson's Adriatic Adventure. Welcome to the Weekend Update!

Walt Disney World
Orlando, Florida

Moviejohn emailed me these photos of Walt Disney World. The aerial shot was taken from his window seat on a United Airlines flight. I'm usually sitting in an aisle seat on the trip to Orlando, so I have never experienced this view first hand.

• Trick-or-treating throughout Magic Kingdom® Park at numerous locations.
• Happy HalloWishes fireworks spectacular — where the Disney Villains go trick-or-treating in the sky!

TDLFAN takes us on a quick walk around jolly olde LONDON town.. in the United Kingdom.

London, England

TDLFAN went to pay a visit to Queen Elizabeth 2 but she was out of town. This is the Queen's London home: Buckingham Palace. The palace has grand staterooms, magnificent paintings and beautiful gardens...

The gate to Buckingham Palace is quite ornate.

The Palace again...

Look up! That's the famous balcony where Prince Charles and Princess Diana kissed as the world watched on television.

This Royal Guard looked a bit crooked.

Fountain in front of Buckingham Palace.

Statue in front of Buckingham Palace.

The Palace's Gardens... very pretty.

The Mall. Many will remember this as the route taken by the Royal Family during many ocasions such as weddings, celebrations or even funeral marches as was the case when Diana died.

Nowadays the Mall is adorned with the UK flag and the London Summer Olympics 2012 flags as well.

The Mall starts at Buckingham Palace and ends here at the Admiralty Arch.

Nearby...The Houses of Parliament. Officially known as the 'Palace of Westminster', they comprise of the House of Commons, The House of Lords, Westminster Hall and one of the most famous icons in London.. BIG BEN, a clock tower with a 13-ton bell.

Nearby... TDLFAN ran into this impostor!!!

Across the River Thames from Big Ben is the British Airways' LONDON EYE ferris wheel.

Riders in one of the London Eye's spacious cabins.

Reaching the top of London Eye the view is awesome.

Going across the Westmister Bridge we get an up close view of Big Ben and London Eye in the background.

Westminster Abbey, where every English Monarch since William the Conqueror has been crowned (and also buried here too!) It is quite an impressive church! This is also where many royal weddings of the modern times have taken place.

Trafalgar Square is considered an icon in London and is famous for Nelson's Column, the ornate fountains and huge stone lions.

Finally, one quick stop at Picadilly Circus, a hip section of London where many shopping and dinning options can be found side by side with some of the city's finests hotels like the Ritz and others. The first ever Hard Rock Cafe is also found nearby...

And this concludes our quick tour of London town. Cheers!

sir clinksalot and family visited Chicago last week and he is going to share his photos with us over the next few weeks. Part one begins with a picture of the baddest looking slice of pizza pie that I have ever seen!

Chicago, Illinois

The Wrigley Building is a Chicago landmark.

Statue of Famous Chicago Bear and Chicago Cub announce Jack Brickhouse

The Chicago River at night

Chicago's Hard Rock Hotel

Chicago's Skyline as seen from Lake Michigan

The Courtyard in front of Chicago's Old Water Tower

The Tribune Building

Statue of King Lear

Murals are a part of quite a few of Chicago's bridges

The Chicago River

Many plaques for different historical events are scattered throughout the city

Millennium Park sits just downtown, between many of the skyscrapers and Lakeshore Drive.

The Chicago "Bean"

They stage concerts in the middle of the park. On this night was the Lyric Opera

Ian Parkinson brings us part two of his Adriatic Adventure. Welcome to Málaga!

Málaga, Spain

Málaga is a port city in Andalusia, southern Spain, on the Costa del Sol coast of the Mediterranean. The city is a tourist destination, due mainly to its proximity to the Costa del Sol. Tourists also visit here to see the birthplace of Pablo Picasso. From Málaga, other cities like Sevilla, Córdoba, Granada, and Jaén can be reached by train, bus or car.

A popular walk leads up the hill to the Gibralfaro castle (a Parador), offering views over the city. The castle is next to the Alcazaba, which in turn is next to the inner city of Málaga. A walk takes the Paseo del Parque (a promenade that runs alongside a park with many palm trees and statue) to the harbour, finishing in Calle Larios the main commercial street of the city.

It's right as you go into Tomorrowland, I believe it's above BLAB, if not, it's on the other side by Star Tours, I can't remember which.

Those aren't murals on the bridges. They're frescoes.

Your comment intrigued me, so I did a little research. Turns out fresco is a painting technique, which doesn't really seem to fit in this case. According to Wikipedia, "Fresco (plural either frescos or frescoes) is any of several related painting types, done on plaster on walls or ceilings."

Of course, as has been pointed out, mural doesn't really seem to fit either. Again from Wikipedia: "A mural is a painting on a wall, ceiling, or other large permanent surface."

Perhaps someone who has more knowledge on the subject can add to the discussion.

I would call those either "bas relief" or "alto-relievo" (low or high relief) sculptures, or somewhere in between. These are higher, rather than lower. Basically, they are sculptures that are "stuck" to their background wall, as opposed to being free-standing.

Just a clarification: "Queen Elizabeth 2" is the ocean liner, while "Queen Elizabeth II" is the sovereign.
