Re: Kingdom Keepers

The books are a great bunch of fun to read. They do take place mostly in WDW's Magic Kingdom and the 2nd book has most of the story placed in Animal Kingdom. The third book will take our young heroes to the Park that started it all in California. So Disneyland will get it's turn in the final book. This same author did the "Peter and Starchaser's books as well and they are terrific as an alternate origin for Peter Pan. Concerning Kingdom Keepers the author really know the backstage and off stage areas of WDW and that makes the books almost beleiveable. Only the technology used in the story is too far fetched right now. Maybe someday....

I've heard these books are a fun read. I keep forgetting to check them out. That's very cool that the third will be in Disneyland!

Re: Kingdom Keepers

I guess I'm going against the crowd here, but I thought it was complete poop. Ridley Pearson can't write to save his life without the aid of Dave Barry, and on his own he falls flat. I elaborate on my dislike for this book very broadly in my blog.

I really enjoyed the first one, it was a fun book. I'm reading the second one right now. I love the fact that the third one is at Disneyland!

I read the first one. Didn't love it, but it was a fun read. I thought there were some holes in the story, but I enjoyed it enough that I want to read the next one.

Re: Kingdom Keepers

I thought the first was ok, but nothing to write home about. I haven't read the second, if that's any indication. I had a hard time getting past a lot of the inaccuracies of WDW and it lost its appeal with so many obvious errors.

Re: Kingdom Keepers

These are such great books! I've read through the series twice already, and i'm already working on the series for the third time. They have such a strong plot and I love all the action involved. I highly suggest reading these books if you haven't already. I can't wait for the third book!

Re: Kingdom Keepers

I read the first one, didn't bother with the second. It's a fun concept, but I thought the execution was bland. I just didn't think the writing was skillful or the plot very strong. A cool idea buys you maybe 5 or 10 pages...then you need to actually do something with it. Probably a fun series for pre-teens just getting into full length books.
