Other New Hires for Spring 2009?

K . . . So I live in Oregon, and have always wanted to work in Disneyland. Am I nuts? Probably. But I totally wanna just move down there and apply. Ha ha! If only it were that easy. :/ I'm applying for the college program for Disneyland, and I'm really hoping I get the chance to at least do that. But I'd work at Disneyland for life if I had the oppurtunity. It's been my dream since I was little to be a princess, but I don't exactly look like a character. lol But I'd be wayy fine with working anywhere in the park. Blah, I type a lot. lol But yeah, any advice to me. I'm ooberly confused about what I wanna do with my life, but Disneyland would be amazing!! :]

Stick with the college program right now because it's expensive near Disneyland, and Disneyland doesn't pay well.

Yeah, I make minimum wage as it is. lol I looked at apartments online too, and they are WAYY EXPENSIVE!! lol But yeah, I can't really make up what I wanna do with my life, but I can always come back to working my way up in Disneyland! :]

I'm waiting for my casting official to call me back, but from what we talked about it looks like I'll be going into New Orleans Square/Critter Country Attractions (crossing my fingers for mansion or pirates). I'll be doing paperwork on the 20th and starting soon after, which isn't exactly what I planned for, but plans change I suppose.

Just talked to her again. I go in on the 20th for new-hire paperwork and start the following week! Who all is in NOS that I may be working with?

Wow! Awesome. Hopefully I won't be too far behind you. I'm particularly in love with Frontierland but NOS/ Critter Country ain't too shabby.

Be prepared to do a lot of Fan! this summer! In which, if I am hired into attractions, I'll see you there. Last summer I did a lot of Fan! (I was in Fantasyland but it didn't matter) and I expect no less if I'm hired for this summer. That's awesome! I wanted Westside attractions last year but only east side and DCA were open. Good for you!

Pirates is a cross-train only attraction. So you wont be there for a while.

This was my first thought when she said that I'd be in NOS/CC. From what I hear, it's not that great of an attraction to host, however I'm fine with filing for an in-department transfer after a few months if I don't like it in that position!

First off, drop the 'S' from the abbreviation. Most CMs refer to the Area simply as 'NOCC'.

As to an Intra-LOB transfer, it requires the approval of your Area Management, as well as the Management Team of the other Area. And most Areas tend to be quite conservative in allowing them without a valid reason (conversion to RFT status among them), as it incurrs extra Training and Labour costs which they're not able to readily justify.

Well Pooh is not that bad of an attraction to work. Its what you make of it and if you got it and then once you pass your probation you will be cross trained on something else. But you might also end up getting Splash Mansion The Boats or Canoes as your first attraction.

Heh, I wasn't saying that I'd hate it on Pooh, it's just my least favorite out of the three.

I can understand not wanting to learn boats or canoes, but what's your reasoning for not wanting to learn the Matterhorn? Is it the silly clothes?

Haha, I actually wore that costume, since it's the same as Classics, but I just never wanted to the stress of it... or use the muscle for when it went down. YUCK!
