    Celebrate! A Street Party--auditions

I am very excited to see that they have posted the auditions on disneyauditions.com for the new parade!
I am going to try my very best to make it to the audition.

What do you think the audition is going to be like? I want to be as prepared as possible, both mentally and physically!

Who here is planning on auditioning?

I would be prepared to be going up ageist all the people from POD and ACF, not to mention all the people who will be taking the Dance class put together specifically for this Audition.

The competition is going to be fierce, even more so at this audition!

Unfortunately, I did realize that after I posted the topic. Since they've taken away 2 whole parades, they'll have to put all those people back to work. Not to mention they already have the parade training/experience.
What dance class? Maybe I should just do that for fun...

Anyway, turns out I may not be able to make it out there that day, so oh well. There'll eventually be more auditions for something or other, I'm sure.

There will always be auditions, and it dosen't hurt to attend this one, simply a warning.

The class is put on by Disney U, and it focuses on the type of dance they'll be using, as well as being put on by the choreographers. They filled up just about as soon as they opened.

    Disney U??? what's that?

are former paraders (pod, acf, bpb) more likely to get hired?

also would you have any advice for those auditioning?

?? I imagine it will be pretty darn similar to BPB choreography- maybe toned down a bit though...

    Yes.

Don't stress out too much, make sure you show personality, don't concentrate too hard, don't show it if you make a mistake, have fun, lots of energy, don't be afraid to ask a question about the choreography when it's being taught (if anything, it gives you exposure), be courteous while other people are auditioning (judges are always watching), and bring water, snacks, and something to pass the time.

It seems like there's going to be lots of stilts performers at this parade, based on the concept art.

The directors and choreographers have already worked with them, so they know when those performers can do. So there is a good change they'll want people they've already worked with, and know will work hard.

Though at the same time, for those who didn't impress them during those parade runs, they'll have a harder chance. So it's good and bad.

kcw summed it up quite well. The dance types are all over the place from what I'm hearing. Though that doesn't mean anything. Some have talked about swing dancers being needed, others more lyrical. It could be that they're looking for people with all sorts of dance back ground from all sorts of periods in time (40s-90s).

    Most importantly, have fun!

Did they bump it up? I went to a few auditions at 16, and I got hired at Disneyland when I was 16.

I've only seen eighteen, that doesn't mean there aren't other times when it's younger... I know characters have been eighteen, parades have been eighteen for as long as I can remember as well.
