I really want to be a Disney face character (Merged Threads)

I really want to be a Disney face character. I would like to get the role as The Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland. I am going audtion when I am eighteen years old. I heard that Disney face characters get alot of money. I have dark brown hair and brown eyes. I also have brown skin. Race shouldn't matter. I look really good for my age. Has anybody audition to be The Mad hatter? I would really love some advice. Thanks.

Red Face Disney Face Character Auditions

I would like to have some advice to become a Disney Face Character. I am a female who wants to be a male face character. I have have brown hair and brown eyes. I am totally in love with The Mad Hatter. I really want to be him. Do you have to be a certain race or race doesn't matter?

Well, race could come into it, but the fact that the Mad Hatter is a Male may end up being your downfall.

Disneyland face characters make alot of money only in comparison to other cast members. It's not a huge amount. Disneyland is very picky on matching up physical types with characters and that occurs during the first rounds of eliminations for face characters. Unfortunately it does not matter how good you are at body language, ad libbing, interaction with guests etc. If you don't fit the model for the face character, you are cut.
A female with brown skin is never going to be hired as a male, fair skinned face character. Sorry. It's not like there aren't other posibilities (fur characters; Jasmine, Tiana, Pocahontas etc. plus atmosphere characters such as pirates and whatnot).

Re: Disney Face Character Auditions

Thanks, but I'll think of something. When I did my research, did you know that a male could be Minnie Mouse and a female could be Mickey Mouse? I could speak like The Mad Hatter and Mickey Mouse easily. I do pratice those voices. And you know what, you might never know I'll sign your autograph someday. Don't worry I can ace this no matter what. Guess what, I am physic and I will see you, one of these good days.

I am not going to give up until I get the official role of a Disney Face Character as The Mad Hatter. I am going have to tell the jugdes that they need a black person out there.
I would rather be my skin color than bleach myself. This is unfair! Disney Face Character Auditions need to judge by the way we can speak like a Disney character. Not by skin color and not even by gender. I am never going to give up. We look different but we all have the same blood. But thanks anyway.

Well Mickey and Minnie are "Fur" characters - totally covered so it doesn't matter if the person is female or male or what their race is. They also don't speak.

The Mad Hatter has to look similar to the Mad Hatter. Unfortunatly for you, he is male and white

Kudos for wanting to be a CM but I would try for a "Fur" character.

Yes I think unfortunatly, seeing how strict Disney is on this stuff, you would have to be a male. Especialy since you can see the Hatter's face, except for his nose that is. But you would also have to fit into his costume, which can be a bit large.
But that doesn't mean that you can't be him for halloween, or go visit the hatter at disneyland and mess with him haha.

It doesn't matter if you're a female or a male to be The Mad Hatter as long as you can speak like a male. Look at this way, I look sort of like him but I am not too sure if I want to be him anymore. If I make the first cut which is the screening process when I get a little older, I would be a little happy. We don't know what is going to happen tomorrow. If I make the auditions, I
would thank you guys. If I become a Disney princess, I will be happy. I'll just stick to what I have. If I really get the role as The Mad Hatter, I would really say "God Bless You Guys"!

Race and gender matter if you're a face character. They matter A LOT ....

A black woman cannot play a white man. I mean WHAT???

Unfortunately so many people share your dream that Disney has their pick of who to cast, Might be unfair, but thats the entertainment biz. If your look doesn't fit the role they are casting, they will move to the next person auditioning.

Question Disney Character Auditions

I am 13.5 years old. I want to become a Disney Character when I grow up. What type of characters do they have? Can I be a face character if I have dark brown hair and eyes? What are the requirements of being a face character? Can I choose my own character? The characters I want to be is Mickey Mouse, The Mad Hatter, Donald Duck, and Horace.
