    Calling All Alumni

I am so excited. I've always wanted a place to meet and greet Disneyland Alumni. So if you're out there, come say "hi". I'm a Merchandising East Alum from about 10 years ago. Working Tinkerbell's Toy Shoppe was my favorite even though I tended to mostly get closing shifts at the Star Trader.

I had worked last summer at Disneyland in Outdoor Vending. Always wondered why ODV get's a bad rap? So many people say ODV is like a slow death, but I enjoyed working there for the summer. Meeting people and just talking to guest was fun. Getting extended every night was something to get use to. (Make no plans when scheduled to work) I think I spent more money on gas that summer than what I made. Would do it again if I could just work the summer.

Worked the New Orlean's Main Kitchen in 1984-85 and plan on going back to work in any of the art departments once I get out of school.

snappy: Did you have Connie as your trainer? I worked with her husband and they were the nicest folks. I always asked her when ODV would bring out the cotton candy maker in front of the castle.

SoSirius: How long were you working there? I know you come across tons of people, but my bf seems to know everybody he used to work with. He worked mostly Emporium, though I know he did Star Trader sometimes.

I'm from Downtown Disney Store ops (i.e., World of Disney, Marceline's, DTD Pin Cart). Quit last June. Was thinking of going back but the thought of commuting from work in Santa Monica on Friday nights was frightening and I love having weekends off.

invader pearl I worked in Merch East from 1994 - 1996 and I was seasonal. I worked emporium for 1 day, closing, and it was crazy busy - At that point I thought Star Trader was crazy - but nothing like Emporium

Snappy Yeah, ODV does get a bad rap. When I interviewed for the job they asked if there is any department I didn't want to work in and I said ODV because I didn't feel strong enough to push the carts. he he he

Opening crew of R2P2, TLT cashier and character host in the late 90's. Indy a couple years later.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

Connie rocks! She's usually found at the Frontierland lemonade wagon now.

My trainer was Steven Y. He was pretty cool. He gave us a hard time but was cool about the training process. I couldn't believe the test they gave us after our training. Gee Wiz...I think it was 3 or 4 packets asking questions from A-Z. From CHurros P-6 to which fire exting. ABC...puts out what fire... It was almost as bad as my Comp's for my master's degree, just kidding. But it was a surprise. Do all jobs come with these test at the end? Attractions? Sales? Etc?

OMG, D-phile, that means we worked there at the same time! LOL (not the location, of course). You may have sold me a beanie, and I may have sold you food, haha...

(Note to others: this is only funny b/c we're close friends and I only just realized this)

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

Ah, so YOU were the one that sold me that burger that kept me on the can for 2 days. I heard someone at TLT was slipping Exlax into the food, and I'm not surprised that it was you.

    (Just kidding.)
