I'm a former CM. Worked 93-95 as a Nightime Custodial CM at DL. I worked midnight to 8am cleaning the park after it closed. So, I didn't get to interact a whole lot with Guests. I loved being in the park just after sunrise and before the park opened. It was a wonderful, magical time for me.

I worked for the Disney Store for 11 months, almost got my Steamboat Willie Service Pin, the thing I will remember most is all the fellow CM's that I worked with without the cast there would be no magic onstage for our guests

I have been a CM for a little over a year at DCA.. I just love it.. I work 3rd sift custodian.. and I love walking around the park when there are no guests around.. it is a different place then and also when the sun comes up and especially when the fog rolls in at about 6.. the TOT looks sooooo neat at this time

Hi Kelly!

When I workd at DL, it was before DCA was opened. It sounds like from your post that there is two 3rd Shift Custodial staffs, one for each park. Is that true?

When I worked, the big issue we were facing was the fact that they were out sourcing the cleaning of the back stage areas to a different company. Before that, we cleaned all of the back stage areas too.

So like I've pretty much worked everywhere and for some reason I just can't stay in one place for very long because of the whole "find the one place I feel I belong" (heh heh) thing for a while or stop from rehiring back in after I quit.

Right now I'm currently with In-Market Sales at the Walt Disney Travel Company in the Disney Desks department. Normally I'm working at one of our Desks at the Hilton Anaheim, Hyatt Regency, Sheraton Anaheim, Anaheim Marriott, or at South Coast Plaza (we also have Desks at Los Angeles International and we're opening up a location soon at Ontario Airport... unfortunately our John Wayne Airport location closed last month) and I represent the Resort as an information station / concierge as well as to sell advance purchase (some are discounted) ticket media and Annual Passes to our Guests. In fact at the Sheraton, the Disney Desk Representative acts as the actual concierge for that property. We also have a Disney Ticket Vehicle that we take to area events all throughout California and some of the neighboring states (like today it's in Arizona at an event) to promote the Disneyland Resort as well. It's a growing department and we offer a great service that not a lot of folks know about. Anyways, at our permanent locations (except for the Hyatt and the Marriott), you can't really miss us... our Desk is actually shaped like a set of Mickey Mouse ears.

In Attractions I worked at Grizzly River Run, the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, Golden Dreams, FastPass, and Parade Guest Control (Eureka: A California Parade and Disney's Electrical Parade). In Food Operations I worked at the Adventureland Fruit Cart, Bengal Barbecue, Brer Bar, Critter Country Fruit Cart, FANTASMIC! Guest Control (both Attractions and Foods-side, as well as one of only three Foods CMs in the Core Team), Fort Wilderness Snack Bar, Golden Horseshoe Stage, Hungry Bear Restaurant, Little Red Wagon, Main Street Fruit Cart, River Belle Terrace, and Stage Door Cafe. I also enjoyed being a Media Host for various events. I think that having such a varied and longtime work experience with various departments within the Resort really helps me with my current position and to be a valuable resource to our Guests.

I also worked Riverbelle Terrace and Stage Door Cafr, but from 1977-1979. That was my first job at Disneyland.

My ex who lives in canada is mad I work at a place he always wanted to work for as a kid.. ha ha ha

If everything works out fine (aka if they give me an offer) I should be working as a part of the WDWCP I'm really excited! If they give me an offer I'll be "living, learning & earning" for a whole six+ months this spring to summer! Hey, I might even get to meet some of you guys
