this is cool that we have our very own place to tell about our cm experiences. but what can we really talk about here?? you mean like stories, or stupid guest questions, or what??

Anything you want. Just be careful that Disney can't figure out who you are. I don't want any of you to get fired.

ok thanx.....i love my job i really do. ive made a lot of friends with the people i work with and we all have become this big family.....but recently things have changed, i mean management that is......i applied for this lead spot and didnt get my interview until a month after the new lead was already chosen....that just really made me mad and i also didnt like how the managers told each applicant the same thing as to why they didnt get it....i work my butt off and am on my best behavior and do everything that im asked of and i still dont get it.......i want to work my way up in the company.....ive been here for 2 magical years now......im going for trainer next and if they deny me that im for sure transferring departments and maybe to a department that is outside the park........i mean i love disney and i love the park, but if they are treating me like this in my department, then they could afford to lose me.......maybe i should just transfer to hotels like i have been thinking of now for like a year or so.....

It all seems to boil down to availability and attendance records to me. Also
things on file from prior managers and areas stay with you forever. Anything
negative since day one can be used against you.

I'm way back from 1994! So, do they still make you go to Disney University when you start? What is it, like 16 hours of training?

Yes, they make you go to the TDA building and sit in a room for 3 days of training. First thing I noticed was how strict they were in what you wore. I actually saw them send home several people for not wearing the correct clothing. I actually was about to be sent home for having brown laces on my Kenneth Coles but I was lucky because I wasen't scheduled to do my OJT that day. Training was almost like being in school again and taking notes.

My hubby and I are teachers and it has always been a dream to spend summers working at Disneyland...I know...kind of wacky but what can I say...we're weird.

..LOL...anyway....is this really doable?

I know this summer will be crazy at the parks with the 50th and all so maybe this is our year....any advice???

snappy oh, I totally forgot about the black shoe thing. Woah, I remember that. I was quite 18 yet at the time, so I had to go home 1 or 2 hours before everyone else. It was a little embarrassing.

Good god!! THREE DAYS?? Man, I thought they were being rough on me for getting on my case about yawning during the one-day presentation (it was a looooong night).
