To get hired: Where to go, when to do it, what to do.

For Cast Members and formers, here's a guide for those potentials out there on how to get hired. Please organize it thus:

    1. Where to park/go once parked?
    2. What to wear/say/be prepared to say?
    3. When to go before you wish to start?
    4. Attractions: offer advice on requesting a specialty area/attraction (Jungle Cruise, Main Street Vehicles, etc.)
    5. What else to know?

    Thanks for your contributions!

    1. Going eastbound on Ball Road, turn right on Cast place. Turn left before the parking structure toward the yellow building. A security guard will double check why you're there and give you directions. If they don't give you directions, just head towards the big yellow building, you can only go one way.

    2. Try to be in Disney look when you arrive. Have a clean shave, well kept, natural colored hair, keep piercings to a minimum. Be prepared for a 2-4 hour hiring process. Emphasize working as a team and being happy to work for Disney.

    3. You can go about a week before you want to start, but they will also ask you when you'd like to go through Traditions (which is orientation).

    4. For attractions, they will normally offer you an area, but not a specific attration. You don't find out what attraction you are getting until the end of Traditions. Feel free to request one, they might be able to help you out as long as it's a new hire attraction (i.e. not Space Mountain, Splash, Rafts, etc.)

    5. When going in there, be happy. You are applying to Disneyland, the happiest place on Earth, so show it. Don't pat yourself on the back and be prepared to sit and wait a long time during the interview process. Don't demand a specific attraction, mention your interest in it.

They usually tend to ask questions like 'describe a moment where you felt really successful and achieved alot in a past job' and they ask you 'why do you want to work at disneyland?'. I can't remember the third question.

be prepared to describe in detail an event in which you really showed initiative when approaching a customer
They may or may not ask you, they asked me, but not the person right before me
Also if you want a close to sure fire time of getting hired, go beg-mid march, right before peak season i know they get into a scramble of hiring the staff they need.

It, of course, varies with your personalities and your information. Suffice it to say, the questions generally ask about past customer service experience, as well as your standard agree/disagree statements.

Re: To get hired: Where to go, when to do it, what to do.

Another important thing is knowing how to navigate the "group interview". If you're in there with another applicant and you're both being asked questions, make sure you pay attention when the other person is talking. I was turned down when i first applied in high school and they told me it was because instead of listening to what the other people in the room were saying, I was obviously sitting there forming my own answers in my head. The second time I nailed it when I not only listened to the other people, but when I answered, I refered back to a good point someone else had made before me to show I had really been listening.
