Any Innoventions CMs here? Are there any Innoventions CMs here? I'm looking to find out what that position is like, as in, do you enjoy it, are the hours decent, what type of shifts will I get, what will I be doing most, what does it pay, etc. I'd really appreciate it, as I'm trying to decide whether to transfer there (and possibly do Animation Academy) or to Guest Relations. I posted on another thread and haven't really gotten responses, so hopefully I will here!

Take your Id (which you'd have if you were in the park as a guest - don't visit during working hours out-of-area) so they know they're talking to a fellow CM.
Don't have all the info, but here is some.
(1) Hours- especially now, hours are short and shifts starting out will be evening shifts. Innoventions is not open for as many hours a day as most attractions.
(2) Innoventions does use a rotation system. Sometimes you will be amongst the exhibits indoors, then be bumped into guarding the exit ramp, then dumped for doing the spiel at the entrance while folks wait for the building to rotate at the next entrance.
(3) Starting pay is $10.13. Starting pay for Guest Relations is $9.50 last time I checked.
Everyone I have talked with LOVE doing Innoventions, despite it being the lamest attraction in the park. Go for it. It sounds like a better deal than Guest Relations where you start out answering stupid questions in the phone room or have idiots yell at you at the complaint desk.

If you are in a bad mood you don't have to smile.
Same with the complaint desk - all you have to do is be like me and learn to tone out the angry people (jk) kinda..

Very, very true. I remember when I first started working at Disneyland, my cheeks would actually hurt from having to smile all the time, so I would consciously relax my jaw and try not to for a little while to relax the muscles. Then, of course, some guest would walk past and say "hey, you're not smiling!"
And I would want to punch them.

I love when they say "smile your at the happiest place on earth".... I had a cast member once tell them no your at the happiest place on earth... im at work...... yea that was a fun GC to deal with
You know, people can usually tell when you're talking on the phone and you're smiling.
