Mobile Notary Public for Hire Just a shameless plug, because I need to earn some extra cash -
I'm a commissioned Notory Public for California, so if anyone ever needs something notarized, let me know. I charge $5 per signature (which is half the normal rate), plus a small travel fee (50 cents per mile).
If you're ever in need of services, just PM me. I'm available on weeknights from 7-9pm and some weekends.
(FYI - I am not a licensed "signing agent", meaning that I cannot notarize housing loan documents.)

It is a service you hire to have an impartial person verify your signature on legal documents.
It verifies that the signature came from the person who actually signed it.
Basically, it's used in a lot of legal documents to ensure legitimacy and prevent fraud.
