I've made many such recordings myself; that is definately not a "live" recording. Live recordings are made with regular microphones. That sounds to me like an Induction Recording, which uses a special micrphone to pickup and record the electromagnetic signal that comes from the speaker.

But you're friend certainly did a good job! I've done induction recordings of SM myself a couple of times, and it's not an easy thing to do.

As for the monorail loop, I recorded it earlier this year (back when it was doing one-way trips; this is from DTD to TL). It's pretty much perfect quality and I added in the "monorail song" music in the background.

You can find it as part of a collection of recordings I've done here:

Here'a also some other recordings I've made:

I'd love to hear the monorail song recording barfownz! Can you post it?

    THanks for your links!

My buddy, Dave did metion that he does record his audio with a microphone thing that picks up electricity waves, not sound waves.

How much does those things cost?
