I was planning to go anyway so, if you decide for sure on a date, I'm in!
Ok, so I'm going to make an OP decision! Two dates: one the opening weekend (Saturday, May 6th) and one in the middle of the month (Sunday, May 21st). The major advantage of braving the crowds on the 6th is that admission is only $9 that day! (vs. $22) I want to make sure as many people as possible can participate and this seems like the easiest way. Please let me know if you can make either date! This should be a blast, and who knows, maybe we'll start a Bay Area MiceChat click like all those SoCal folks have! LOL
See ya real soon! Gregory

I'm watching this thread, too. Not sure if and when I can make it, though. Saturday's the only weekend day I have to ride this week, as we are putting on a century on Sunday, and I'm driving SAG.
Have bicycle, will ride. Finished 2012 with 10,089 miles, 683 hours, and 482,000 feet of elevation gain.
So far in 2013: 3289 miles, 224 hours, 216K feet.

If you can't make this Saturday, there is always Sunday the 21st, hopefully you can make it then!Originally Posted by Trekkie Dad

I just got my ticket via Museumtix from the Oakland Museum website. I will be there at 10. It should be easy enough to find me.. just look for the guy wearing the Nightmare Before Christmas jacket and taking pictures of everything.
Parking btw is on 9th and Oak, below the museum. The cost for parking is $1 an hour with validation.

I'm taking BART so I'll see you guys at 10:00-10:30. I think I'll wear my Donald Duck shirt. I'll be sure to look for you!

Well Gregory_510 and I met up and got to experience the exhibit today, and I have to say we enjoyed every minute of it. They exhibit is in 3 different areas of the museum though so if you are planning to check it out, be prepared to do some walking.
I don't want to spoil the suprises for anyone (and there are a lot of surprises in this exhibit), so if you'd like to find out more about what all is there (like the very first animatronic Lincoln (the one that was at the worlds faire).. without the rubber skin or clothes on, and other very cool stuff... check out http://www.museumca.org/ . Please note that due to the newness of this exhibit, the site still has it as a upcoming exhibit, but there should be photos up soon (or so some of the people working there told me).
I'm sorry that I was not able to get any pictures, but the museum did not allow any cameras and the security that was there watched us like a hawk every second we were there.
