Just got my D23 "kit"

And it consists of a folded flyer with a membership card glued inside and a promise of more stuff to come (mag, cert, exclusive "gift"). I didn't know this before but supposedly being a D23 member grants you 1 hour early entry at the Expo - pretty cool! This info was printed on the back of the card.

Sounds like that was just the card, and that the kit will be something separate. I believe there are two packages still to arrive: one will have the certificate and magazine and the other will have the gift from the archives. Fun to get three different packages...

Its not like the expo is an all year event. I dont know why they bothered printing it on the card. Makes it sound more than it really is.

I can't wait for the expo, I just hope the early admission allows guests of the D23 membership as well. I don't wanna go into the expo by myself

Re: Just got my D23 "kit"

Yeah I wondered about the guests getting early admission. If Disney thinks I'm buying a D23 membership for everyone in my family they are nuts :-)

Um... most interesting info on how they are sending this out. I made the assumption that everything would arrive in one package.

And as for getting into the expo early... Cool! Thats the kind of little perks that might might not look like much, but are nice little perks to have!

I read a small quote on their d23 membership store where they said it would be sent in stages, just as described on this thread.

So I would say its not new info, but info not heavily emphasized till now.

Re: Just got my D23 "kit"

Okay...
My added question: Are the cards high quality? Like credit card quality - durable, stiff?
Or is it cheap cardboard or flimsy plastic like they do for their AP?

Re: Just got my D23 "kit"

Somewhere between cheap and durable - almost like a plastic and cardboard mix. About average quality IMO.

National Fantasy Fan Club. They do fan events/cons every year, and this year there faced with competition with D23 Expo. Disney claims that NFFC will live on, but now that there not the only game in town, it will be interesting to see what happens this year.

Then post a meetup here

I REALLY hope there are more advantages to being a member than just expo stuff.

Re: Just got my D23 "kit"

I've just been over at Laughingplace.com and someone has just posted a live picture showing of his D 23 Welcome pack. Not only is the Membership card there but it also looks like this person has recieved his certificate and Disney Twenty Three Magazine. So I recomend you keep an eye out for the mail as the other goods are also arriving. We just need to find out what the other gift is here now!

Re: Just got my D23 "kit"

I received my D23 membership card today.

I was expecting it to be in an envelope but it was in more of a pamphlet that can easily be mixed up with Junk Mail. Overall, the card is well made. Its sturdy like a credit card but has a matte feel to it. Its obviously of higher quality than the AP cards Disneyland hands out so that makes me happy.
