I didn't sign up until March 13th!! I won't get a pin!!!! (And most upset because I saw that pin on eBay for $100. No one bought it, but it was listed)
That's terrific! I wonder if we'll all get one...

Still waiting on that Mickey poster, so although I went in on day one, I won't hold my breath for this pin. That's been my one beef with D23. I know it's a "free" gift so I shouldn't raise a stink, but shucks, everyone else got one.

its a pin that is "earned"
like, why have the pin if you weren't a charter member?
I joined on Day 2 and consider myself a charter member.
I actually find it so sad tat people are asking so much money for these pins... It seems to take away the fun spirit... it's turning D23 into what the LE pin release events have been... good way for sharks to profit off of real collectors who might not get the merch, due to people who don't want it snatching it up first.

Perhaps this is where the line "available to members in good standing" can come to play. Maybe Disney is going to try to work out a system to reduce the "profit junkies" and try to serve more of the true fans.Originally Posted by NeverNeverland

I had to double check my email to see when I signed up..YAY March 10! I can't wait to get mine! What a great surprise!
Thats a nice idea in theory but I can't see Disney doing anything about it. For one thing I don't think they really care what the secondary market does... they've already gotten their profit out of the sale.(In fact, I think that sometimes they actually like the insanity of the secondary market... it keeps their products "hot" and in demand). And secondly, once the item is in your hands it becomes yours to do with as you wish.
Do I like that people are selling these pins on eBay for mondo bucks (and getting it)? No, but do I see a plausible way for Disney to control it? Also no. Its frustrating as all get out to me and does take away something of the magic of pin collecting, but its one of those things that you can't get bother you.
I also had to double check my email. I knew I hesitated a bit, then signed up. I guess I didn't hesitate that much though, because I also signed up on March 10th. Wonder if I'll get a pin...
