Yeah well, remember, if the link to get free tickets says it'll open at 11am, be sure
to log on at 10:50am and keep refreshing the page because apparently Disney isn't into keeping by the rules or playing fair these days...11am really means 10:55am!

I realize that these D23 events are well received by all the members who have attended them but this one puzzles me. This event seems destined to make 99% of the members unhappy and only 1% happy.

First of all viewing Disneyland, USA is available to anyone who purchases the Walt Disney Treasures DVD Disneyland Secrets, Stories, & Magic.

Second of all Tony Baxter and Dave Smith have been easily accessible at most NFFC Conventions over the past few years and have each given many wonderful, informative talks to NFFC members.

Third of all; why make us choose between being in the Park on Disneyland's birthday and going to this discussion?

Finally; why put thousands of members on edge trying to get these tickets?

Why not just screen the short at the D23 Expo and have Tony, Dave, and Ed do the panel discussion then? Seems like a simple solution and 100% of the members would be happy.

Like you hinted at, pengle, I don't think this particular event is a huge deal for most members. Many who are going to be at Disneyland for its anniversary would rather be in Disneyland, rather than backstage at this event. I am planning on being in Disneyland then and hope to get in to this event, but I have met Dave Smith, own this feature on DVD, and am likely to meet Tony Baxter at some point in my life, so if I don't get in, its not a huge deal to me. I just enjoy D23 events.

Do I ever feel silly. I was just at the D23 site, refreshing and refreshing, waiting for the link to be posted to get tickets. I was going crazy- it was after 11, and they still weren't posting the link! I'm like, "What gives? Come on! Post the dang link!!"

Then I realized they will, on the 29th. Today is the 22nd.

    Oh well, next week, then!

Think of it as a dress rehearsal.

Don't feel bad. Just consider it practice.

Well, it definitely paid off for me last week!
Eh, I just hope I'm as lucky next week, as I was last week.

I know I have a bad attitude over this whole ticket thing but after what happened over the studio tickets..... why even try.

What page should I keep refreshing next week? the Main d23 page or the event page of this event? I doubt I will be able to get tickets but I want to give it a try. This might sound insane but maybe these events should be payed events. I know we are paying to be members, but it should be only members can purchase tickets. Even putting a $1 on the cost will reduce the rush to get tickets by a lot. I would say Charging $20 for a member only event would be a really good idea, and still a great deal.

My guess is the page for the event itself.

Just to recap, the event tickets are scheduled to become available this coming Monday at 11 am (Pacific). D23 | The Official Community for Disney Fans

The theater seats about 200 people, so we can assume that will be the maximum number of tickets available. If most people take 2 tickets (one for themselves and one for a guest) then that means about 100 people will be successful on Monday.

I doubt that demand for this event will be as high as for the Studios tours since this one takes place during the work week. Still, there are likely to be far more people attempting to get tickets than there is room for. Know what to expect going into the process and it would be as stressful if you don't end up with a ticket

Good luck to those of you who are looking for tickets!

Become available might be a better phrase so as to avoid some of the impending confusion and negative comments.
