Re: Walt Disney Family Museum Dates Announced

Anyone have any idea what time the D23 tickets will go up on Saturday? It seems like there will be enough since everyone can bring 3 guests, but this is definitely something that I don't want to miss out on. I was gonna check at 9am PST, but do you think it might be earlier? Maybe Midnight PST?

So these tickets are only going to be released through the Disney Museum website, and NOT through the regular D23 site the way they have done for all other events? And NO time of day was given at all?

I wish they would supply a little more information!

I was also wondering if anyone has gotten the "special D23 code" so you can order tickets tomorrow. Maybe we use our member number?

Notice I said "non-d23" tickets. They are already selling tickets for October. They were easy to get. I wonder if that is because all the D23 members are waiting for the preview tickets. It is going to be interesting to see.

I have been waiting for the D23 tickets. I wonder how they will handle this on Monday?

I don't know, but I bet I had it easier than the d23 members will on MOnday if the past D23 ticket events are any indication.

Re: Walt Disney Family Museum Dates Announced

It appears that this delay in the tickets had nothing to do with D23. The Family Museum is handling all the tickets and from their statement they won't be ready until later.

They said that more information will be available Monday, but they have not yet specified when the tickets will go on sale.

I'm sure that the Disney Family Museum is just having technical difficulties since their ticket site is brand new. And D23 has to be beating their heads against the wall as the members tend to be a bit . . . um . . . (shall I say "critical") when things don't go perfect. But the event isn't until the end of August, so there is still lots of time.

I'm not worried. But I do feel sorry for all involved on the back end. Launching new things isn't easy as D23 knows and the Family Museum is learning.

I hope everything gets worked out soon. We'll all still be here waiting.

Just to avoid additional confusion: (the bold mine above)

D23 tickets will not go on sale but rather become available.

The event dates are at the end of September rather than next month.

The WDFM website has been rather busy over the past few days since they opened ticket & membership purchase availability earlier than announced. This was done to help eleviate being bombarded on the original launch date of 8/1. This probably also figured into the decision to delay the D23 ticket distribution until Monday, in theory this should make things somewhat easier to get through on the site for this opportunity. Good Luck!

I noticed it just fine. What I don't know is if the DFM is opening up the weekend of Sept. 26-27 to any other groups or patrons, something I was already wondering about. An answer in the affirmative would have indicated yes. I guess I still don't know the answer.

Well I was referring to tickets after October 1st. Since I am not going to be there in September I did not look to see if anything was available. You'll have to go to the site and check. Here is a link.

The Carolwood Pacific Historical Society is having a "private event" at WDFM that same weekend. What day and what time specifically, I have no idea. Nor do I know what entails the "private event." That info has yet to be released.

There will be of course other invited preview guests and groups on-site prior to opening day. Many have (and will in the future) contribute to the museum in various ways including the architectual firms, local preservation efforts, city, county and on a national level as well. Plus Disney and Pixar as well.
