You are getting way more than $95 worth out of this event. If I lived in Southern California or was planning to be there that week, I wouldn't hesitate to pay that. This sounds like a fantastic event and I'm truly jealous of everyone who gets to go. Be sure to take pictures of the show at the Tam O'Shanter for those going.

I too wouldn't hesitate to reserve for this event, I just hate doing these things alone and also need a ride to this place, but I won't pay an additional $95 so someone can come with me and attend the event with me...

Is anyone thinking of going to the restaurant from the theater by metro? I'm thinking of doing this but have never used the metro before. I was just wondering how safe and good the metro is. If you have any tips I'd like to hear it. Thank you.

how do you plan on getting home after the restaurant. I don't think the metro is a 24/7 service

Hi ryanvalle. I have someone picking me up at the restaurant when it's over. I just need to find a way to get there from the theater! So I was asking how the metro is.

Metro is a very safe way to get around. Just use the usual precautions you would take using public transportation or even walking around the crowded parks. You might want to download a map first and be aware that the Red Line does split at one point. Have fun on one of the most transit system in the world (even if this is car centric LA)

The Metro station is right across the street from the El Cap on Hollywood Blvd., but unfortunately the closest it goes to the Tam O'Shanter is Sunset/Vermont. You would have to take a bus from there (up Vermont and east on Los Feliz), and the buses in L.A. are not fun (I occasionally take the Metrorail but would never take the bus). And the overall trip would probably take an hour or more with all the waiting. I would suggest a cab (which you can call by phone).

Oh okay. Just looking after a fellow chatter's safety.

Anyways, metro is great if the timing works out with you. Since busses usually travel at intervals (around me, it seems to be 10-15 minute intervals), you want to make sure you arrive at the stops on time so you aren't late.

Another option is to see who else is goign to the event and see if you can just hitch a ride from the el capitan to the restaurant.

I am planning to go solo, if I can get a ticket. I will be driving, if any one needs a ride.

I'm sorry that this is what I first thought of. I'm sure there are many grateful folks that would be down for a carpool.

Thank you all for your replies!! Seems like taxi is the way to go. I wonder if there's a certain time we need to be at the restaurant. I don't want to get there too late so I may avoid the metro. First things first... I need to get tickets!! haha

Jonathan - Thanks for the comment about the wait list; it helped me to get a ticket for the Magic & Merriment event at WDW!
