D23 Tron Monorail toy is for sale at Disneyland

    Hi everyone,

I wasn't able to get to D23 this year, and one of the items I wanted was the Tron themed monorail toy. I was hoping they had some left over to sell at the parks, and it turns out they did! Not sure how popular they were, but it's a neat little item for only $20.00 each (and you can use your AP discount to help that price a little!) Although they may be available other places in the park, the only place I saw them was at the World of Disney store. Before I found them I checked Star Traders, and Disneyana. In Ca Adventure I looked in Off the Page, and the store across the street from Disney Jr show (forgot the name) and none of them had them or knew about it. At WOD it's in the Tron toy section, on the middle shelf, so don't look for an obvious display. I got one of the Blue and Yellow ones. They either couldn't (or wouldn't) tell me how many they got, so to be safe if you want one head on down or contact DeliverEars sooner than later.

You do realize it is the same monorail, right? All they did was face it differently to get 1500 of Clu and 1500 of Sam. No matter which one you got, you get the same thing, just slightly different packaging.

Now this is why I don't post much, I wind up looking silly. I know I had read someplace about a 1/2 split between colors. I seemed to imply manufactured as 2 colors, not packed like. Took one out of the package, and yup you're right. It's packed in such a way you can't really see the back until you take it out. Those clever marketers. At least I'm still on vacation and heading back tonight so I'll see if I can get a refund on one of em.

Anywho, if anyone is interested, there will be one more back on display!

    Thanks!

Nah, you're not silly. They'll take back the other. Since you got it at the park, you'll have no issues.

As a Tron fan, I figured that's what they'd do but I didn't want to chance it, so I bought two on the first day (one Sam, one Clu). Opened one and saw it was the same. Unfortunately I couldn't take it back (Dream Store didn't accept any returns). So I'm selling the extra one. I don't need the packaging variant.

It's a cool Tron item, and worth the $20.

I had looked forward to this item, but when I saw it in person it seemed cheaply done. I opted not to get it. Hope they'll get around to releasing the Mark VII die-cast soon.

I spotted it, and had to giggle a bit... Cool though it was, it reminded me of a joke between a friend and I referencing a very silly vlog. Every time we saw the Tron Monorail in WDW (we were both in the College Program, so this happened often) she would shout "TRON-O-RAAAAIL!!"

Well, it seemed funny at the time...
