Studio Tour

Hi! So it appears that I might actually be in the area around the time that they are offering the studio tour and I would love to go. The question/situation I have is that I will be staying by the Anaheim Convention Center and I won't have a car - is there a easy way to get to Burbank without renting a car or grabbing a taxi? I was thinking a bus or shuttle? Thanks!

You can take the train. I've done it before, doesn't take too long. I forgot if itsthe metro or amtrak.

Here is how you would do the trip using public transportation....

As you can see, it will take you around 2 hours and 47 minutes without traffic or delays.

I just picked the arbitrary start time of 7AM that will get you to the studios at around 10AM.

The details are below, but it looks like you would take a bus from Disneyland to Downtown LA. From there you would get on the Metro Red Line rail to Universal Studios. From Universal Studios you take another bus to get to the Walt Disney Studios.

If you can get to the Anaheim Train station, you might be able to take the Metrolink train from there to Downtown LA. That would replace the first bus leg of the trip and save you time. However, you'd probably need to get a taxi to the Metrolink station and I'm not sure how often they run on the weekends because it is mainly a commuter service.

My curiosity got the best of me so I looked up Saturday Metrolink service from Anaheim Metrolink Station to LA Union Station(Downtown).

Looks like there are only two outbound trains. One leaves at 9:46AM and arrives at Union Station at 10:40AM. The other one leaves at 3:15PM and arrives at Union Station at 4:10PM.

There is only one viable return train that leaves Union Station at 4:40PM and arrives back at Anaheim Metrolink at 5:21PM. The other train leaves before noon which isn't an option if you are doing the studio tour.

Something else I negleted to mention...

If you do the bus to downtown it drops you off at the 7th St Metro station where you can catch the Red Line.

If you take the Metrolink train it drops you off at Union Station where you can also catch the Red Line.

If you really do intend to utilize either of these routes, make sure to lay out your trip with some room for delays. The bus and rail systems do not run like clockwork here in LA.

I also didn't attempt to figure out a feasible return plan, so you will want to make sure there is a way to get back using the reverse services.
