Iger's replacement

Now, I know people have different opinions about the current Disney CEO Bob Iger (I personally hate him, I think he's worse than Eisner). But I just want to ask: Imagine if he resigned today, who should replacement him. My list would have to be:

- Steve Jobs
- Ed Catmull
- John Lasseter

Hey, just noticed that all my picks are from Pixar (coincidence? I think not!). But who do you think should be Iger's replacement if he were to resign. And please don't turn this into a thread about how you feel about him.

What's wrong with Bob Iger?

I don't pay much attention to what the CEO's do, I just enjoy the parks .

Re: Iger's replacement

I personally approve of Iger as he has chosen the current team of those who are in leadership positions within the company such as Lassetter, Catmull and Jobs. Yet, to answer the question, it would have to go to Catmull. Ed understands the creative workings and its importance while still being able to play the numbers game. Jobs alliance lies with Apple, Lassetter is having to much fun with all the creative workings to be distracted by all the numbers.

On a side note Miller had his shot to run the company, but didnt much with it, good guy just not a business man. Roy just wants to preserve the name and make sure it isnt tarnished, and staggs isnt to much of a numbers man to focus on the creative workings of Disney.

Re: Iger's replacement

My main problem with Iger is that in the 3 years or so he's been CEO, we've seen a lot more garbage being released by Disney, which is being marketed like crazy, and therefore appears to be making the company money (so in turn more trash follows), but when Disney has something that's good and worth marketing they don't do a thing. But also, they've gone from doing "family entertainment" to making "kids entertainment" which are two very different concepts in my opinon.

Just thinking, the way Iger's driving the Disney company into the ground, it wouldn't surprise if when Steve Jobs gets back from his leave, he just buys out the rest of the company and turn it into a subsiderary of Apple - which would be nice, and kinda ironic (imagine an Apple logo on the Snow White Blu-ray).

Without Iger, no Pixar for Disney.

Eisner pioneered the company in a different direction than Iger. I think Eisner was better in certain aspects than Iger.

Frankly, I think Lassetter would make an absolutely horrible CEO.

Re: Iger's replacement

You did start it off pretty negatively. There may be some support, but probably more backlash. The company isn't being run into the ground. There is plenty for all ages. The company has remained strong in several areas, and strong enough even in the weaker ones, during a recession that is killing many other businesses. Steve Jobs won't be doing a whole lot with either company, considering his health.
And df07 - you can't compare the original Disney Channel to now, since the company has so many different channels now. Each of them is more focused and purposely different, where they were all combined, originally - more offerings for even more ages --- most recently, XD, as well as (under Eisner) the Family Channel and ESPN acquisitions, just as examples.

He's doing just fine! Stop the hatin' and get some of your facts straight first.
