Disney may divide up studio chief role

Quote:
Speculation about the Disney power pyramid has brought up this over-riding question: Is the job of "studio chief" an anachronism?

Implicit in this question is the theory that there may not be a direct successor to Disney’s Dick Cook. Some supposed insiders opine that the job of studio chairman may be divided up by CEO Bob Iger into a group of "pod masters" overseeing different branches of the Disney entertainment empire.

Iger woke up thinking: How else can I make it an even more dysfunctional place to work.

^ Answer: increase the size of the Burbank bureaucracy. Confuse the town over who's in charge of the Studio. The reality? No one is, which means Bob is. Chapter 42 in the Eisner playbook.

And who said the nuts don't fall far from the tree?

Well, even if nobody knows who's in charge of what, at least getting the Podmasters their business cards will be simplified...

Oh, ROLE.

I thought the headline was saying that the new studio chief was going to be sliced in two.

Whew!
